Before he can regret it, he picks up the phone and dials the sequence of numbers printed on the card. Each press leaves a watermark on the screen, which he doesn't bother to remove, knowing that it will only make the problem worse. As soon as he finishes dialing the last number and presses the call button, he notices that his hand is shaking more than usual.
He tries to calm his breathing as he listens to the phone ringing next to his ear. When he hears the dial tone, he immediately thinks about hanging up and pretending this never happened. Throwing himself on the floor as he drowns in the pool of water that grows and grows beneath him and letting the silence of the room be his only companion, like every other night.“Hello, sweetie, thanks for calling Phoenix. How can we please you tonight?”
