It was nearly Valentine’s Day, Alice Spencer thought as she unlocked the front door of The Loveliest Garden early that morning on her way to work. It was their busiest time of year, so Alice had offered to come in early to deal with opening the store. It was only she and her bestest friend, Alfred Hallam, who owned the tiny flower shop in the center of London; and while theirs was on the smaller side in comparison to others in the city, that didn’t stop Valentine’s Day from being absolutely jam packed with boys buying last-minute gifts for their girls, and girls buying flowers for themselves when a boy didn’t respect them enough to even give them a kiss. In just two days, they’d be needing to break up fights between women who wanted the same type of flower in their bouquets at the end of the day when there were only a few left. In just two days, they needed all of the roses on the face of the planet. God, Valentine’s Day was an absolute fucking joke.

“...Talk to you? I have, love. But you don’t believe me...” ‘He never does’, he felt the winds whisper to him. He swallowed back a wave of bile that washed over him, flashes of failure, failure, he always fails her how could he do this-
“Not- not telling me you’re here. But just… anything else. Please, anything. I can’t- everything feels wrong, not real, Eurydice...” ‘Anything to reassure me you’re not just a crude mimicry sent by Hades to mess with me’ was what went unsaid.

They've lived this tale over and over again. No matter how many times it ends this way, they continue to sing the same songs anyway; hoping, praying that one day, things will change. That one day, Orpheus won't turn around. Again and again, he failed. He refuses to fail again.

Watch how these two cinnamon rolls compete in a heart-stopping battle to out-cinnamon-roll each other as they play a delicate game of how-close-can-you-get-to-being-a-couple-without-actually-being-a-couple. Expect to see multiple stretches of plotless sappy dialogue, lazily-written side characters that only exist to serve the romance, and such obscene acts of cinnamon-rollery as to put your grandma’s recipe to shame.
Or: a silly little fic that fills in the gaps between “Road to Hell” and “All I’ve Ever Known” with cute, fluffy encounters and deliciously angsty episodes through which our precious little cinnamon rolls fall in love. The burn is painfully slow and rife with a sense of yearning so intense it should be illegal. I regret nothing.
