So, let's get something (not-so) straight. I've read a lot of #chengyao fanfiction, but this is one of the few that really portrays the ups and downs of co-parenting. In this particular case, the marriage (of convenience for custody reasons) between JC and JGY turns into something more. I mean, after 10 years of marriage... Just living together and sharing experiences makes it hard not to fall in love, especially with someone who takes such good care of you. So... JL is a lucky kid. I love this little family.

After being traumatized by 2ha (but appreciating the appropriate ending), this post-canon fanfic is just what I needed to heal my wounds. Pure sweetness, comfort, and heartwarming love between them. I love the dynamic between the twins and XM. How can CWN deal with MR and TXJ? Not a clue, but he's the most selfless person ever and loves both sides of him, so I'm happy for them. And (last but not least) I have to admit I liked how they portrayed SM. I'm sorry, but no one's gonna make me hate you, you angelic-looking man. I really don't care what you've done, I'm incapable of being angry with you. So, yeah. Happy for all of you.

So this is it. My train of thought: I have no problem with LXC and JC going freaky ONLY IF (my beloved) JGY and NMJ are ALSO there to be part of it. JC being intimate (sexually) only with LXC is like buying a McDonald's hamburger without the fries and drink, okay? Sure, it works just fine, but if you only get the burger, then it would be no different than making it at home. You know, with better ingredients and all the toppings you want. ON YOUR OWN. No need to get out of bed and go outside (the equivalent of JC being aroace-coded according to me). BUT if you insist on going out for the damn burger, then you better enjoy THE FULL EXPERIENCE. Because in my world, the burger (LXC) comes with a small portion of fries (JGY) and a drink (NMJ). Either you get the whole deal or don't bother paying for a single burger.

It has everything I ask for in a story: sweetness, mild misunderstandings (which are quickly cleared up), R-18, non-sexual intimacy, a healthy relationship, and pure love. My dear XM is THE best boy that ever existed. I love him so much. And the relationship he has with the Mei Hanxues *chef's kiss* I liked that (even though they are twins) they are not the same person (obviously). THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!!! Sooo good, really, no joking. Love the development of the relationship and how they start to healthy communicate with eachother. I love that NMJ and LXC try to protect MGY as much as possible, so that he can forget all the abuse. HATE JGS, obviously, that assh*le does not deserve a child like MGY or JZX. I really liked the friendship (?) between MGY and XY, like... literally besties-in-crime. But all so sweet, because they genuinely care about eachother. AND.... as the cherry on top, FINALLY a well-written, straight-forward, no-filtered, realistic discussion about likes/dislikes, boundaries and desires BEFORE going all the way (u know what i mean). It was like breathing fresh air... I'm glad they added this. Completely necessary, btw.
