Summary
His eyes shot open, just as the pod opened and he fell forwards, landing heavily on his front. On his back, he could still feel his warhammer, making him sigh in relief when he realized that he hadn’t been completely stripped of his gear. His hand moved to the locket that was underneath his armour, giving it a gentle squeeze, before pushing himself to his feet and moving forwards.
It was then that he spotted the masked figure standing by the pool that held the mindflayer tadpoles.

Viago gets dumped by the love of his afterlife, and everyone does their level (terrible) best to help him move on. Anton knows a thing or two about not getting the life you thought you were going to have. The camera crew are back to film every moment of it. More or less.
“Katherine left Viago a note.” Deacon says, turning to the camera and making a face as a moan of anguish echoes from behind the closed door of Viago’s chamber. “It seems that she met a younger man at the bingo hall, and they have- well, not ‘run’ away, because I do not think he can run with that metal frame thing he has to use to get about but- they have left.”
A crash comes from inside the room, and then more heartbroken crying.
Deacon winces. “Vladislav is comforting him.”
“We could just kill her if you like-” Vladislav can be heard saying.

The two of them look up to the sky in frozen silence, not even breathing, the sound of the wind whistling through the trees the only sound in the clearing. The stars are wrong. Jon knows the stars, Knows the shape and age of each one, and there is not a single constellation above him that he recognizes.
“Oh, god,” Jon says, his eyes gone wide. The weight of everything crushing down upon him at once. They are in another universe, and they have brought hell with them. Jonah Magnus is dead, and will never find them again. Everyone they have ever known is gone, and will never find them again.

Summary
“I really, really am going to miss this – even talking to you like this. Just, just holding onto that bit of hope that you’re not-“, Martin cuts himself off then, because Jon is as much not dead as he is awake and moving about, “it’s nice to just pretend for a bit, I guess”
Jon’s skin is cool and dry where Martin’s fingers brush against it and Martin squeezes his eyes shut as he lowers his hand.
“It’s probably for the best if I don’t come here again anyway. Time I stop lying to myself and secretly wait for you to just wake up because you hear my voice. God knows, I’m the last person you’d wake up for anyway”
He doesn’t quite manage to keep the bitterness out of his voice, but then again, Jon probably can’t really hear him anyway so why bother? – And now he’s imagining, he can hear Jon’s breath. He really has to get out of here and just let go. For once in his life.
