Summary
Three hundred years after Angmar first arose in the North-kingdom, the successor kingdom of Arthedain still stands against the Witch-king of Angmar, though Rhudaur and Cardolan have fallen.
Not that the war bothers Marcho’s daughter Bagmē Blōma, half-Fallowhide, half-Harfoot, fifteen years old and all opinions. She’s got other things on her mind.

Discussions upon Translations from the Elvish by bunn
Fandom: The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings - J. R. R. Tolkien, The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien
07 Oct 2024
Summary
Stories about history and transmission of story in Middle-earth focussing on Bilbo Baggins in later life; his role as a scholar and Elf-friend after his adventure, and the writing that he did in Rivendell: 'Translations from the Elvish'; a work of great scholarship, compiled with the help of the Elves of Rivendell, which later passed to Elanor Gamgee and from there to Gondor. Some of the stories from the Silmarillion and the History of Middle-earth series are here re-told in a more hobbitish form.
This series has no overall arc and will probably never be marked complete. Each of the stories is designed to stand alone, and I endeavour to make them canon-compliant in so far as that is possible.

War of Wrath by bunn
Fandom: The Silmarillion and other histories of Middle-Earth - J. R. R. Tolkien
30 Dec 2022
Summary
These stories are all about the War of Wrath period, but were written at different times with different protagonists, and don't have to be read in any particular order. I'm trying to keep them more or less in chronological order.
My novel-length work Quenta Narquelion covers the Eastern front, the Feanorians and Belegost in some detail, but I have not included it in this series as it is slightly canon-divergent, being narrated by Invisible Ghost Feanor.

Summary
Stories about the House of Fëanor, the House of Fingolfin, and Dior and Nimloth in the Halls of Mandos after their deaths.
This series connects with the Return to Aman series about Elrond and Maglor coming back to Valinor after the fall of Sauron, but does not require it.

Summary
Galadriel and Celeborn, through the Third Age of Middle-earth.
There are ways to express the difference between you wanted and I wish you wanted in Quenya by adding the right affix. In Sindarin you must change the sounds of the verb itself, the feeling soaking into the substance of the word. What is the lenited form of grief, he thinks. What is the right declension for a yearning without a name.

Summary
One in the airs of heaven, says my brother, and one in the fires of the heart of the world, and one in the deep waters. His voice dances when he talks. These are the jewels the elves lost. A father and his seven sons came across the sea to find them, and all of them died except one, who still walks by the sea and sings. Sometimes I can hear him, and I pull my brother to the window and point. He says it is only the birds.
A Fourth Age Maglor fic.
