Summary
“A time-turner? Aren’t these heavily regulated by the Ministry?” The entire stock of Time-Turners lining the shelves in the Time Room were currently caught in an endless loop of tumbling, reversing back to their original positions & falling again. As far as he knew, there hadn’t been any further production of them & it was also highly illegal to keep one past the allotted period. Hermione had once revealed to him that a fair number of Unspeakables involved in the study of time magic were still rather peeved over this.
“Yes,” the witch replied. There was a biting note to her soft, silky voice, as if she thought that Harry was rather stupid for asking such an obvious question. “And yet, here we are.”
Caught in the backlash of a cursed Time-Turner, Harry Potter is sent back into the turmoil of the 1940s. Struggling with a lack of information & the chilling realization that his mortal enemy is still just a teenage boy, Harry finds himself forced to attend Hogwarts where he attempts to keep his head down - but this becomes impossible when he's sorted into Slytherin, putting him directly into Tom Riddle's sights.

“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.

Quick warning, I do break things more before I fix them. The Battle of Hogwarts was a lot worse in this fic than it was in the canon, more characters have died than in the canon. #SorryNotSorry I feel like the Golden Trio wouldn’t be willing to possibly throw away their lives without a very good motivation. The sky is screaming again. It’s funny. You’d think I would have gotten used to it after a while. Like how you can eventually tune out the frantic yapping of the dog down the street in the morning, or the infuriatingly incessant screeching of the rooster. You’d think that after hearing it a few dozen times, it’d get easier to listen to. But no. It’s hard to describe. It’s like thunder, but it’s a voice. Thousands of voices, really. All screaming at once. They sound like they’re in pain. It’s as if every single bed in the world’s largest infirmary was occupied by two people at once. Every last one of them is howling at the top of their lungs as the surgeons walk slowly down the lines to dispassionately carve through their flesh with ancient, rusted scalpels. That’s how loud it is. But that isn’t the tone it conveys. It’s a scream of pain, yes. But it’s not pleading for mercy, either. No. These voices? Wherever they are up there, hiding in the dark space where the sun used to be, they are proclaiming their hate. Well good for them. I hate them, too.

Harry opened the cupboard at a slow pace, and what he saw was absolutely shocking.
Right here, in his cupboard, was a fucking Dragon.
