Where do I begin...? I'm such a fan for Tenna recognizing small Mike out of costume. The way this fic went about Tenna realizing was just perfect.
the story... so bittersweet. its such a short yet sweet one. what killed me the most, was the ending line to it... obviously, it was supposed to elude to the two, wasnt it?
God, its really perfect. I think i started crying a bit lol
😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😭😢😭😢😭😭😭😢😭🤤🤤😢sorry ive been sitting here for a few minutes i cant even put it to words how emotional this fic made me. i gave it a kudos just immediately lol lol aomfg it moved me so much... i loved how greenpippins did things out of habit, i love the interpretation of pippins having good voices for the characters(it makes sense for when playing his mike persona!!!), i love tenna giving his divided attention to the story hes heard time&time again, providing his own commentary, where he cant help it i mean hes made to commentate!!! and, just general interest for the story thanks to the green pippins.
The writing in this was just phenomenal. The character dialog was just so spot on. It's incredible...
I want to cry about this again. Thank you for making such a work of art. I've always, well.. played the bedtime reading bit in the Mike operation as a joke, but I never really stopped to think that it could be more than that. I guess I could just never imagine it. But this was put so sweetly, im genuinely moved... I was sorely mistaken, then.Incredible incredible incredible its such a gorgeous fic. I want to reread this all over again... Thank you for the sweet battenna
And honestly im still thinking about the bedtime story augh I hate it I hate these two(said lovingly) and their stupid issues. Tenna chasing the lightners' love and green pippins wanting Tenna's wishes to be granted, hidden within the story, I'm sorry I think Im crying again... wow... wowow wow wow wow wow. Disgustingly bittersweet. Im so sad. What kind of kids storybook ends with the two protags dying whywhyw why why no dont worry this isnt a critique i dont oppose it im just shaking my fist in the air hoooly shit author why must you hurt me this way
Im going to cry again and again wow this fic totally made me emotional. Yeah, Green Pippins, why did you pick that damn story specifically!?

OH MY GODDDDD URBHHHHHHVGHHHHHHHHHĤHHHH WHAT THE HELLLLLLLL THIS IS LITERAL PEAK ACTUALLY PEAK THE CHARACTERIZATION IS JUST MWAH CHEFS KISS!!!!!! Maybe im just a nasty dirty fan of tenna teasing and small mike being shy when hes not... small mike, regardless. it has it all here. its so perfect oh my gosh
grinning ear to ear reading this and i will reread it over and over again
the premise is so so so so good too. In a more relaxed scenario, I can legitimantly imagine something like this happening. Should the mikes chose to continue working as mike(WHICH BTW is my FAVOURITE interpretation of how the mike charade goes on after a reveal, since in canon theyre v adamant of remaining mike for their own reaosns), I absolutely LOVE the idea that Tenna is skeptikal of SmallMike, as hes the one who deviates the most from his actual self when as mike. Oh that miscommunication is just so delicious. Sorry im sounding weird but im truly pouring my heart out over this theres so much for me to say im so in love with it.Small mikes language being vastly different from how he talks as a Pippins... Shy pippins oh my goodnesssss.... I love it. And even if its unrequited i think Tenna would relish in the praise. Like the notes say, hey!!! He'd come around, eventually!!!!
Its so ridiculously sweet. God. Author, you caight them so extremely well. I think this is just my favourite dynamic for the two post-mike reveal, maybe the most realistic situation. But im lowk jalf asleep so i might js be saying shit.

I love that Tenna insists for the real Smallmike when theyre alone. I dobt know why that detail is so prominent to me. He doesnt ask him to be honest outright because jist seeing the real him without the mask is enough to read him like an open book(other than the fact that hes actually got a face and not that perpetual grin)Ok im jist saying things now but really this fic has put into words a perfectly charactetized situation for how it woild go postreveal... yeha... this is totallu it...

im bad at this, im really, really, really bad at this, but, regarding your note; Im really happy you managed to persevere through that experience. ive had a really close relative of mine have a similar experience and though probably not the same situation as yours, it was the most terrifying experience of my life, but you managed to come out healthy(? in the end, and im really greatful for that. i hope nowadays youre doing a lot better. and i pray that nothing like that happens to you again
regarding the fic... I havent read a "last day" or old(?) fic for a long, long, long, LONG time. This was really good. it was painful but bittersweet to read. not only do you already come up with and release the best bttn fics with interesting premises that i just had no idea i needed to read but this was an absolute treat. had me crying halfway through. Halfway through!
I really love the flow of this too. The sudden scene changes and ok just the fact that its in Tenna POV has me already knowing that we wont get any closure the second the fic ends but it still had the floodgates open. Good god... the first time that tenna has a memory lapse, im sitting here thinking ah right, that would happen... its so good.
tenna footing the bill before battat can, battat's proposal...💚 just these parts alone, made it so much more impactful...their unspoken but understanding communication just felt so natural. its very touching. they both want the world to each other. ahaha i feel tears pricking my eyes again. its very touching, and they way its depicted here... its tearing my heart apart. you did an amazing job at writing their 'interactions' here... the bouquet part too, its so...

He'd stood out from every other Pippins for as long as he could remember, for better or for worse. Not just physically, what with the green eyes and everything; but even his personality didn't quite match up with the rest.
Where they'd be tossing thousands of dollars into blind boxes and gacha machines, he'd be trying to design his own clothes or learn a new skill. Where they'd be selling illegal merchandise and getting tossed behind bars, he'd be doing the best he could to scrape by using, to everyone else, "strangely" legal means. Where they'd be crafting money-making schemes, he'd be stringing together new information to try and understand these asinine Worlds they lived in that nobody else seemed to question other than him.
Really, why WAS he the only one like this? Every other Pippins was exactly the same. Every other Pippins had red eyes. Was there something wrong with him?
Or, my take on how the green Pippins fell into the role of Mike.

Im not free right now, and when I am i hope to pour my heart out completely about just how magical this fic felt to read so far, but this is seriously some GOOD FUCKING SHIT. Thanks fo the winter newslettsr, ive been more interested in the pent up rage battat may have accumlated from just working under tenna. The way this fic explores and executes his anger here is just CHEFS KISS. also im definitely sick in the head and just love battat berating tenna ok lets forget i said that. Its such a horrible and tragic clash; Battat, voice of reason, cant get it through Tenna thick skull(casing?) that hes way too self absorbent that he cant see just how his selfishness affects others under him. He is Textbook definition of a horrible boss.... Tenna's selfishness makes him zone in on only the things he could ever care about (the show, mike, the dreemurrs and his image and so on) That even when its being told straight into his face he ignores it like dirt on the floor . And thats so painful, because he clearly does want the best for the people cares about, in this case its Mike, that he doesbt realize want Mike truly wants.
And, OP? I know its a touchy subject, but i am so glad you explore the topic of a internalized homophobic tenna. I honestly agree with the sentiment, despite the game noooott reallyyy going for it? (other than the "visit" point you brought up in the notes, that was a good point! i never considered it) I think it really fits for this context and im happy its what was written . :)
I say this, and mention Tenna's dilemma, because it honestly hits quite close to home. Im all too familiar of a selfish person only wanting to give the best to only what they care about, ignoring anything else. Someone who cannot see beyond the pristine walls they built up, content with lingering in fbe faux haven for as long as they possibly can. A liiiiittle dramatic but i really, really truly love Tenna's character in this, and how unfortunate it is for him to face Battat's (warranted) wrath.
Theres more id love to say and theres definitely typos but im going to stop here to get some sleep. I love this. So. So . Mucb. Good night -

He knew the job must be much to take on, but somehow he’s turned into Tenna’s other half, in a way. He did far more than just help out with stagelights and scripts. He was Tenna’s emotional support, his physical support, his right hand, his left hand, his first and last aid. As thankful as he was for being treated with such kindness from his boss, he couldn’t help the way his stomach twisted and tied into knots, knowing that one day this long-winded charade would catch up to him. After all, these affections were directed towards "Mike", not "Battat".
