A collection of (mostly Vat) ficlets because i need a writing outlet and writer’s block is kicking my butt.
Self-indulgent to ZERO end btw.
And the title is right, he’s not an astronaut, he’s…whatever this is.

Summary
Ryland Grace usually takes a day off of work whenever he’s having a bad flare up day—courtesy of his husband forcing him to—but usually, those flare ups don’t hit him until later on in the day or when he finds himself stuck in the unusual San Francisco heat. He would call off, but he knows how devastated his students get when they walk in only to see a sub. It’ll be fine, he’ll use his cane today, drink lots of extra water, take breaks when he needs to. It’s been a long time since he’s had an episode at school, surely today won’t be the day!
ORRyland Grace has a medical episode while teaching and Simon gets to take care of him.

Summary
She turned around to him. Standing there in a lab coat and another ugly T-shirt, he was in a similar state to her, apparently—shifting from foot to foot, unable to keep still; his hair stuck up in all directions, as if he'd been running his hands through it (and she stubbornly ignored the awful urge in her to reach out and fix it—it was a symptom of the last few days, nothing more); he wrung his hands together and avoided meeting her eye. God, what was up with him?
Grace has some bad news for Stratt. It doesn't go down well.

Summary
Ryland Grace is not going to be one of those *crazy* time travellers. He has more sense than that. He can totally fix things and get back home and nobody will ever be the wiser. The Acting thrum would be so proud of how well he is pulling this off right now.
or
Ryland Grace is a time traveller. He's also the world's smartest idiot. The rest of the team on the Vat is totally gonna let him fix things, but honestly, how stupid does he think they are?

Summary
"Stratt?" Ryland Grace asked softly. His voice was… quiet, she thought. Hoarse. Almost wet.
"Doctor Grace?" Some small part of her wanted to help him more than she'd wanted anything in so long. More than she'd let herself want anything in so long. "What are you doing up?"
