Logic didn’t always dictate his actions, ask anyone he’d ever been mad at. He lashed out, he used logic to his advantage, he made sure everyone in the room knew he was competent. He made sure they knew he knew what he was doing. If he was self destructing, it was on purpose.

All of the stars and the inky black were gone, and all that was left was Scar's huge hands gripping him close and his leg between Scar's thighs and his nose pressed into Scar's shoulder. All of him surrounded by all of that, and the unfortunate feeling that he'd never been so fucking close to something he wanted while also nowhere near it.

At a certain point, Grian realized the games had become a form of self-harm. He didn’t know when it happened, he just knew that he was punishing himself, hurting himself, and dealing with it in the unhealthiest way possible. He didn’t expect to have any genuine repercussions from the game other than a few jibes here and there once it was all over, and he sure as hell didn’t expect to be the sole member to recall anything that happened once the game came to completion.

The victors remember the game they won and any game that came after.
