“Dude. You can’t just say all that and then not tell me who.”
“Hannah,” he scoffs. She can practically hear how he rolls his eyes.
“Come on,” she begs, “you were already thinking about telling me, anyways.”
“I don’t know why,” he says under his breath. Hannah scoffs lightly.
Really, she doesn’t need him to tell her, for two reasons. The first being that she doesn’t want to make George uncomfortable, because she knows that he keeps personal things like this close to his chest in the first place. She feels a little honored that he even considered telling her, like it’s some kind of proof that George feels just as close to her as she does to him.
The second reason is that she honestly kind of already knows. There’s nobody else that it could possibly be, at least in her mind.

So George had a problem. A problem he knew it was one, but never dared to say out loud before. Dream could tell something was wrong, and as usual, wanted to help. But this wasn't something he could fix for him, was it?
“Well, there’s nothing you can do,” he said, shrugging.
“Well, I mean… Technically…” The brunet raised an eyebrow.
“What?” His friend let out an awkward laugh.
“You need a heat partner,” Dream pointed out. Then, he pointed at himself. “I’m an alpha.”
At first, the omega didn’t see the relation between both statements. But the moment it clicked, his cheeks instantly turned red, huffing and looking away.
“You’re such an idiot,” he let out. “Stop messing around.”
“I’m not, I’m not! I’m being deadass.”
George blinked a few times, before huffing again, expecting him to laugh and say he was kidding. But he didn’t.
“So what? What does that mean?” He pressed. Because there’s no way the boy was actually suggesting that. “You would just, fuck me?”
“If that’s what you needed.” The alpha shrugged, as if the conversation was normal.

It’s a statement. Not a question. There’s no mocking tone to it, no challenge, or teasing lilt. A fact, spoken aloud.
George feels like his whole body is curling into itself.
“Yes.”
A fact. The inevitable truth crashing down.
Dream hums quietly, then speaks again, this time more gentle, more hesitant. “Do you still love me?”
An exhausted and apathetic George, plagued by shifting dreams and nightmares, runs away from the SMP to live out the rest of his life alone in the wilderness. Eight months later, Dream shows up on his doorstep, and he's forced to reconcile with the past that's been haunting him.
