Summary

Will tastes like the honey goat cheese Michael knows he likes to snack on after supper while Michael tastes like the finest wine, sipped in celebration with the king and his court upon his arrival. They always manage to complement the other when they least expect it, and that, Michael believes, is a miracle in and of itself.
He plans to show him as such, to give him the best sex he’s ever had in his life that it’s almost miraculous.

Summary
Couples resort and Mike should never be used in the same sentence, yet there they are, as clear as day in Will’s mind. This whole setup feels like a before-bed, dreamlike scenario he’d conjured up a few years ago that has only now manifested into reality. Why couldn’t it have been a dream of him becoming a professional artist, or winning the lotto, or becoming a real life, honest to God sorcerer like his D&D character class? No, it has to be Will trapped with his best friend on a romantic getaway—a best friend Will has unfortunately been in love with for the past decade because life is funny like that.

Summary
Mike has always lived to feel needed, like an innate urge to protect the things he cares for.

Will rests his head on top of Mike’s. “I won’t,” he whispers into his hair. “I promise.”

Summary
Will pressed his face to the glass, wishing that he were closer. The man’s cheeks were pale, having thick eyebrows and lips. His nose was long, though it didn’t disrupt the harmony of the man’s features. His eyes were the most captivating part of his face: wide and brown, reflecting the moonlight.
In other words, he was beautiful.
Will found himself blushing, feeling foolish for swooning over the knight, who clearly was just doing his job. He couldn’t help but itch for his parchment and ink, to see the man up close, take in those eyes when they weren’t forced to remain a disciplined neutral.
Or: William Byers is a prince under King Henry's rule, known for being one of the most exceptional clerics of the entire lands. In comparison, his life remains pretty lackluster, and Will is convinced that nothing more will ever come of it.
That is, until a certain Sir Michael Wheeler is elected as Will's personal knight.
