Tony heard the elevator arrive and winced at the prospect of unexpected company. His eyes were closed and there was a puddle of whiskey forming where he’d dropped the bottle, soaking through his shirt and into his skin. It didn’t matter though because there was no else it could be besides Pepper, and she had seen him in far worse states than this. It was supposed to be Pepper.
It wasn’t Pepper.
“Hey, sorry, I forgot my backpack by the – oh my God, Mr. Stark!”

Peter doesn’t know Tony has a drinking problem. Until he does.

Summary
Tony tries to mind his own business, he really does - but when he finds out someone sneaks into one of the rooms of the vacant Stark Tower, he gets curious. Especially when he sees the footage of said someone climbing the outside of the Tower by sticking to the smooth surface to reach the room on the 92nd floor. But when he finds the blood in that room, the concept of “minding his own business” is quickly thrown out of the window.
That’s how Tony finds himself trying to befriend the costumed vigilante who comes and goes as he pleases and seems to have a talent for getting stabbed and - wait, how old is he?

Summary
Everything happened so fast, Peter truly doesn’t remember exactly how they got to the hospital. One minute, Dr. Strange was at Tony’s side, then he was tossing a change of clothes Peter’s way—which he still has no idea how he got in the middle of the crumbled remains of the Avenger’s Compound but he’s grateful for them so his identity doesn’t get blown—and the next, they’re stepping out of a portal inside of a hospital’s ER.
Peter followed closely behind Pepper and Rhodey as a team of nurses wheeled Tony towards the ICU double doors, only to be stopped by a nurse when she noticed Peter following.
The nurse put a hand on his shoulder, stopping him as she looked at him with a mixture of concern and worry at the sight of his face. “Family only beyond this point.”
“But I’m-“ Peter tried, but the nurse shook her head.
“Family only.” She repeated in a finalizing tone.
As they wheeled Tony into the ICU through the double doors, Peter managed to catch a glimpse of the uninjured side of his face before the doors closed, completely blocking Peter off from him.

Peter is acting odd, Tony wants to get to the bottom of it, but it really seems like it’s just Peter being a teenager and making poor decisions.
Until it becomes clear that’s not what’s going on at all, and now Tony has a lot of mistakes to fix.
