It's not unusual; explosions, as much as he hates them, are kind of par for the course for most of Gotham's goons. Blowing things up seems to be their go-to to solve any problem, which probably explains why Gotham's insurance companies charge such high premiums.
But something's nagging at the back of Jason's -admittedly probably concussed -brain. A nagging feeling that he's forgetting something, that there's something important that he should be doing right at this exact moment.

And now here Dick is, bringing another child to Wayne Manor as if that place is anything but a glamorized bear trap. If Tim knew the full story, he’d realize why he shouldn’t give a damn about saving Batman because Batman can’t be saved. He doesn’t deserve to be saved. Every instinct in Dick’s body screams at him to turn back and dump Tim on the side of the road. Mostly due to the fact that Tim just keeps yapping.
“There’s a McDonald’s on the highway,” Tim suggests. “I think the McRib is back. Have you tried the McRib?”
Dick pries his gaze off of the road ahead to shoot Tim a glare. “This isn’t a road trip. We’re not stopping for lunch.”

Right. He’d lost his knife earlier in the fight when he got attacked midway through cutting some ropes. Which is fine, he’ll just find some other way to get out of here. Without any knives. Or weapons that he can use without accidentally giving himself a gunshot wound in the process.
Jason takes a deep breath to rethink his plan of action, which turns out to be a huge fucking mistake. Dirt goes flying up his mouth, clogging up his nostrils and he’s left coughing in the aftermath. Every wheeze invites more dirt into his mouth, turning his spit brown as he tries to wash it out. The space between his breaths shortens until it disappears entirely and the feeling of choking greets him like an old friend.

Honestly, Tim was impressed. Bruce had clearly planned what he was going to say ahead of time, and Tim wouldn’t be shocked if it was written down somewhere and then rehearsed. It was firm, yet careful and open. Honest. Communicative. Things Batman usually wasn’t.
Or: Tim catches a cold. He mopes about it. Bruce is there too.
