She doesn’t know how to say: Coming was my only option. It has been for a while.

Knives wins right at the beginning, but instead of killing humanity, he becomes a cult leader dictator. Keeping both himself and Vash in angel form, he rules over humanity with an iron fist. But he still needs to convince Vash of his cause, so he calls upon his followers to give him human sacrifices. He tried again and again to get Vash to kill them and finally give in.
Wolfwood is the most recent of these sacrifices. But this time Vash manages to save his life, and continues to protect him from Knives.
Maybe Wolfwood will even get his dying wish of getting dicked down in a church.

Guns were all over Gunsmoke.
You couldn't throw a rock and not hit a gun of some kind. It was a way of life for the people on the planet, something to protect themselves when things got dicey. Of course, that just means more guns around, and it wasn't odd to see someone get shot in the street every other day. Then the news gets out that there was another shooting, and people buy more guns to protect themselves, which means more guns in circulation to get to people who would use them for bad shit. Then the loop repeats time and time again.
Nicholas knows this personally since he shot his father in the fucking head at seven years old.
(Or: Wolfwood doesn't believe he is a good person. Vash thinks differently.)
