Aventurine...Ratio felt light-headed as he stared at the poster. He reread the casting, reanalysed the image, and there was no doubt in his mind that the man was Aventurine. Not only was that man identical to the one who haunted his dreams, but that was his name attached to it. He felt dizzy. Ratio hadn’t seen or heard from him in ages, what was he doing here now with a theatre troupe of all things? And most importantly, why did he still go by that name?
“Um, Ratio?” March asked apprehensively, “Are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

Aventurine’s head whipped back into place to face Ratio. Those words couldn’t be real. Not coming out of Ratio’s mouth, and not directed towards Aventurine. He needed confirmation. He needed confirmation that this was real, he wasn’t dreaming, he wasn’t insane, he was here, he was real and that actually happened. Because not even in his wildest dreams would something as impossible as this occur. Desperately, Aventurine seized Ratio’s arms which were loosening around him as he looked to him for validation.
Aventurine stared at him in horror.
Ratio was passed out.

Jingliu turns to face him. He has grown taller in the few years she’s been gone. He still reeks of child; somewhere inside her she understands what Jing Yuan saw in him. “This will hardly be the first loved one you fight.”
Yanqing swallows, looking everywhere but at Jingliu herself. “I don’t know if I want to fight anymore,” he whispers, shaking his head.
She kneels beside him. “And it is exactly why you must continue to utilize the blade.” She stares into the horizon of the Luofu.
“I can’t. It’s not the same without him.”
She sighs. “It will never be.”
Jing Yuan succumbs to the mara. The Luofu keeps moving forward.
