Summary
The man waved a hand at her from the doorway. “Hi, Donut.”
Princess Donut narrowed her eyes at him.
“Come on, Carl”, Miss Beatrice said, taking his hand and pulling him towards the bedroom. The man nearly stumbled on Princess Donut’s precious Mouse toy that lay on the floor. They both giggled drunkenly. Princess Donut sighed. Another of these kinds of manservants. Princess Donut watched them go, judging harshly.
Carl. She rolled that name around in her mind. Carl.
It was a good enough name, she supposed.
Life through Princess Donut's eyes before the Collapse.

Summary
Astarion wouldn't dare compare Gale’s very clearly lovingly maintained kitchen to a campfire and a chest of pilfered cheese and stale bread. But the feeling of it, the easy companionship, sharing the day’s burden of woes with someone who understands? That's familiar. And that, he didn't even realise he missed. Only now, watching Gale potter around his kitchen and chatter in much the same way he used to potter around the cookpot, Astarion feels… settled.
Maybe even comfortable.
Oh.
Oh dear.
Before he can stand and take his leave, go back to the contract in Calimshan and pretend this embarrassing little episode never happened, Gale sets a goblet down in front of him.
Just in passing. Drops it off on his way to the teapot. Like he thinks nothing of it.
But it's blood. Fresh, too. Pig, if Astarion's nose can be trusted, which obviously it can. He takes a tentative sip. Then downs the rest before Gale has finished pouring his tea.
“It's warm,” Astarion says, nonplussed, staring at the now-empty goblet. It would be beneath his dignity to lick it. He's no starving wretch now. But it is tempting all the same.Bookmarked by flutterpie

Summary
The Absolute may be dead, but the troubles of the Heroes of Baldur's Gate are far from over.
Karlach burns with an infernal fire that threatens to consume her, and Shadowheart struggles to keep the tiefling she's falling for alive. Astarion finds himself bound once more to the shadows, and he meets an enslaved Drow who's found the peace he craves. Gale continues to wrestle with the deadly Netherese orb as it threatens the woman he loves, the bard Mouriana whose painful past is not as distant nor as healed as she had hoped. Halsin's heart struggles to heal as he sees the woman he found himself falling for in their adventures strengthen her bond with the wizard, though hope comes in the unexpected form of a person from Mouri's past.
As the road stretches into Avernus itself, they find that the greatest challenges aren’t found in the monsters they slay, but in the hearts of those who travel beside them. Love, forgiveness, and trust are far more elusive—and dangerous—than any foe they’ve faced.

Summary
Astarion stands at his tent, pretending to pick at his nails, the edge of his dagger gliding harmlessly under the hard nailbed to collect debris though he’s already cleaned them twice now. Any lingering dirt still remaining won’t come out no matter how hard he digs.
Filthy fingertips aside, he glances up quick and catches it again.
That wizard, Gale, staring at him from his own tent across the camp.
At being caught, the wizard startles slightly, eyes going wider as he turns in place and fumbles for something to grab. His clumsy hands land on one of the pointless metal contraptions he has gathered up outside his tent and Astarion watches as he picks it up and examines it a little too closely to be believable.

Summary
Until, oh, thirty minutes ago, Astarion held no particularly strong opinions about spiders. The largest of them carry barely a thimbleful of blood, and acid ranks only slightly above rot on his list of preferred flavors, but frankly, he’s eaten worse. There was that year – or was it two years? – when Violet, in one of her moods, tried to train the palace spiders to bite the other spawn in their sleep, but he holds that against Violet, not the spiders themselves. Eight’s always seemed an excessive number of legs – and eyes, ugh – but that’s more of an aesthetic complaint than a moral preference, really.
Over the course of the last thirty minutes, however, Astarion’s been forced to think about spiders more than ever before, and he’s discovered that he absolutely hates them.
(In which Gale saves Astarion from a second demise, much to Astarion's confusion.)

***RE-UPLOADED AS IT WAS PREVIOUSLY DELETED!
Kara has two soulmates; she knows this by the elegant script on the middle of her back that says "Green Arrow" and the almost childlike handwriting on her shoulder blade that reads "You're on fire!"
She doesn't know what's more absurd, the fact that one of her soulmates' first words to her will involve arrows, or that she will apparently catch fire in front of the other.

“How did you even get in? I very definitely remember locking up.”
“Ah,” Gale looks ever-so-slightly abashed. Only slightly, though. Mostly he looks a little proud of himself. “You know how the receptionist is always asleep?”
Astarion's eyebrows shoot up.
“Gale Dekarios, you shady thing.”
“I only borrowed it! He's never been awake enough to ask about spares, so. It was easier to just sort it out myself.”
“It would have been easier to ask me,” Astarion points out.
“Mmmm,” Gale hums, doubtfully. “I don't know if I'd ever consider you the ‘easier’ option, Astarion, I feel that would be doing your commitment to cantankerousness a great disservice.”
I'd be extremely easy if you weren't so fucking annoying, Astarion thinks.

Summary
Wyll, that sanctimonious bastard, refuses to help Astarion ascend. Astarion leaves the party, hoping they all die screaming.
Ah, but Raphael has an offer: a mirror allowing travel between worlds. Surely there must be a universe where ascension is still on the table? There’s nothing left for Astarion in Baldur’s Gate, after all.
It doesn’t matter that Wyll’s come looking for him. And it certainly doesn’t matter that Wyll follows through the glass, through boundless universes, through their myriad other lives—searching, chasing, never giving up.

A series of shorter, light hearted fics intended to glimpse at the downtime between the companions as they seem to gravitate to each other and couple up from Gale's view, feeling as though as Wyll and Karlach grow close, and Lae’zel and Shadowheart, he and Astarion are left together with no one but each other for company.

Summary
The world they live in can be cold and cruel, so to survive they have to make choices.
To Felicity Smoak, the world is comprised of cogs and wires. They make sense in a way nothing else does. The only problem is that her heart keeps getting in the way, until one day it doesn't. Her heart dies and she finds a way to push through it.
To Thomas Merlyn, the world is full of scum. He was raised by a man with no morals and groomed to take his place. So when someone foils his father's plans, he will do whatever it takes to get those plans back on track.
To Laurel Lance, the world is dark. She doesn't understand the frivolity of society, not when so much blackness lurks in the shadows of everyone's souls. There's darkness in her, more than anyone realizes, but it helps her so she embraces it and everything that comes with it.
To Oliver, the world has the potential for life and beauty. He finds it in the babbles of a blue-eyed blonde. She gives him hope in a world that had stolen all his light. That hope preserves him. It saves him.

Character study of a magically-gifted, emotionally-constipated Oldest Sibling Syndrome sufferer who over-inflates his ego as a means to cope with his insecurities.
Featuring his siblings who only want the best for him (to fulfill his dreams and hopefully get laid), a pining paladin with a hero complex that rivals the entire length of the Sword Coast (spends many nights wishing he was the one doing the laying), and said paladin's friends who are really just a bunch of weirdos.

(EDITS and new chapters coming, Feb. 2020--the muse is back!)
Cecil is the Voice of Night Vale. This is common knowledge, of course, and each night, the calming baritone of his voice sweeps over the city, bringing news and insights to each and every citizen of the small desert town.
Why is it, then, that Cecil was missing for four years during his time as an Intern? The prophecy came true, and a Radio Host needed to be created. The others didn't last, but Cecil was strong enough to survive Station Management, after all.
Years later, he lives a quiet and happy life, with a one Carlos the Scientist, perfect and gentle, caring and loving. But the past dies hard, and it may be time for Cecil to prove his loyalty to Night Vale one more time.
Post Cassette.
Much of Cecil's back story, including abuse/rape/torture is present here, so do tread carefully.

Whickber Street Relationship Counseling (and Rescue Service) by staroversea

Summary
After the honestly quite confusing, and now quite fuzzy, events of the Whickber Street Traders and Shopkeepers Association monthly meeting, the self same traders and shopkeepers had a very slow morning. Which means most of them were ordering some much needed coffee from Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death. And thus, they were all able to witness as a black Bentley which had been a hazard in this neighborhood for as long as any of them could remember, pulled out of its customary parking spot a downright respectful speed. This leads to an incredibly painful intervention between a handful of traders and shopkeepers and very angry demon.
Or:
The incredible true story of how 8 shopkeepers become responsible for a very emotionally fragile demon. And how, later, 8 shopkeepers, 1 demon, and 1 angel end up in a glowing elevator to Heaven on a rescue mission that very well could be suicide. (And could also be very much unwanted by the rescuee in question, but that is not something that aforementioned 8 shopkeepers, 1 demon, and 1 angel have given much thought to).Bookmarked by flutterpie
