Summary
An omega mage is suffering in the middle of battle, but it isn’t sickness or heat. He doesn’t know what this is at all. He just feels hollow and panicky. So he pulls himself from the conflict to hide away in a ruin, biding his time to calm down. But it only gets worse. He’s shaky and weak, he doesn’t understand why, and it isn’t stopping.
And then the alpha commander of the enemy militia finds him. It should spell doom for him, but the other man is suddenly more empathetic than he’s ever seen him. The alpha seems to understand what’s happening to the omega in a way he hasn’t been able to comprehend himself.
He’s starved for kindness, and he’s finally breaking from the lack of it.
Merciful to the sight, the enemy commander takes pity and works to soothe the aching omega.

Ayato has turned the corner into the gardens and is carrying a stack of paperwork. Thoma’s eyes land on him and his breath is absolutely stolen.
Ayato is as beautiful as the moon and all the stars in the sky. He’s grown taller and into his shoulders, an elegant man with a sharp jaw with that fetching birthmark near his lips. His skin is pale and his eyes still hold that intriguing sharpness to them that only Thoma knows is insecurity. In short, Ayato looks like a dream and Thoma feels himself falling over and over again in the span of ten seconds.
Or, Thoma leaves Inazuma that fateful night. Somehow, things turn out okay, and ten years later, Thoma finally gets his answer.

Kaeya has a box of unsent letters hidden in his desk at the Favonius Headquarters, all addressed to Master Diluc Ragnvindr of the Dawn Winery.
Maybe he intended to send the first few he wrote, when Diluc first stormed out of Mondstadt and disappeared without a trace, but now they're merely self indulgent, a way for Kaeya to pour out all the words he wants to say but never could.
It would be a very bad thing if Master Ragnvindr ever got his hands on those letters. It would be a very bad thing, indeed.

The night in the rain many years later, Diluc’s broadsword held above him like a guillotine, the whites of his red eyes showing all around, delirious with fury and grief.That night, maybe in the rain, when he went past even his limit on death after noon and choked on his own vomit in his dark and lonely room until he whited out.
Two were good reasons. Worthy reasons to die. The third was at least the product of something he loved.
(Kaeya always loved the things that hurt him the most)But this? Dying in this gods forsaken blizzard for the sake of some rich asshole’s asshole son?
Pathetic.
