Vox navigates to Alastor’s account, reports him for spam, and blocks him. Then unblocks him, because like hell is he having the last word.
@VoxPopuli: You are an amateur HACK with a DEATH WISH. One day you’re going to fuck around & find out, & you won’t enjoy what happens after.
@RadioDemon: That almost sounded like a threat!
Dread pools in Vox’s heart.
Minutes later, Vox gets an email that his account has been placed under review for threats of violence. He fumbles with the lock on his car door, kicks it open, and flings his phone across the barren street with a shriek of rage.
Or: Alastor's greatest joys in life are chasing tornadoes, risking his life, & making Vox regret being born. Vox plays whack-a-mole with TOS violations, accumulates credit card debt, & fails to blackmail anybody.

Summary
“Every sinner has a marking that shows how they died on Earth,” Alastor explained as he took Vox’s hand in his and traced the scar on his wrist.
“Where’s your scar?” Vox asked.
Alastor’s smile strained for a second before twisting up again in a deflective manner. “Now aren’t you hilarious! Your scars are a weakness! It shows vulnerability and that, my pal, is a foolish thing to show in Hell.”
When it got out that Vox killed himself in his mortal life, things became so messy that even his PR team can’t prevent the laughing stock that he’s been made. A powerful overlord and one of the 3 Vee’s slitting his wrist and bleeding to death? Pathetic.
Alastor doesn’t regret many things, but he’d do anything to make it back to Vox if only the other would allow him. Lucifer seems to know a thing or two about sharp objects...

“A game,” she proposes. “We go in a circle, each tells a secret. Something we’ve never told anyone else down here.”
(Or, the Vees play a game. If it was always going to end the same way, why does it matter if they lost?)

“Okay, first of all, I’ve got people lining up at my doors just to shake my hand because of this ‘annoying mug.’ And secondly, your avoidance has proven my point entirely— you can’t cook!”
“Can too,” Alastor rolls his eyes.
“Oh, yeah? Prove it. What are you cooking right now?”
“Meat, obviously.”
Vox, former best criminal profiler in the entirety of the United States turned popular true crime show host is brought back on for a particularly urgent string of killings. As he begins to get more and more entangled in this web of death, Vox finds himself learning truths he never meant to uncover about himself.
Luckily, his childhood friend turned psychologist and radio host is always willing to lend a helping hand.Series

Summary
Nothing in life is certain, except death, taxes, and Alastor and Vox. Somehow, no matter what universe they’re in, the two manage to find each other.
Alastor is nine years old when V and his fancy family move into the house at the end of his street. They’re not at all how Alastor expects. He’s never met anybody as cold and controlling as V’s parents, and he’s never met anyone he’s liked as much as he likes V. They quickly become friends after Alastor saves V from a cruel punishment in the Louisiana sun, and V finds himself welcomed into a family where nobody yells at each other, nobody gets hit for misbehaving, and where he can be free for the first time in his life.
What kind of men can two boys become when found family and love disrupt the cycle of isolation that creates monsters?
(A queer coming-of-age exploration of how connection, trauma, and environment shape who we become, told with grounded psychological realism. A litfic-style narrative following Alastor and Vox from childhood into adulthood as found family rewrites their trajectories.
A companion piece to It’s Not Murder, imagining what might have happened if the two hadn’t grown up in isolation, but readable as standalone.)
