They’re not necessarily the allies Shiv would choose in any other situation. Ken--well, fuck, right? She and Rome didn’t really have time to process that whole situation, considering it was immediately eclipsed by their personal apocalypse, but Ken’s a wreck and she feels fast-churning anxious worry in her stomach watching him. He’s a liability to them, and he’s also her big brother, and he also intentionally or unintentionally almost killed himself in the last 48 fucking hours.
She also knows that now that this has been set in motion, there’s no way he’ll back down from it. She could beg him--she could get Roman to beg him--and it wouldn’t make a fucking difference. She remembers what he told her: “If dad didn’t need me right now, I don’t exactly know what I would be for.” He needs something to be for, and she gave it to him, and she doesn’t exactly feel like she can just rip it away again.

Summary
It seems hypocritical causing more pain to himself, but Bucky finds himself deep in a self harm addiction. Whether it was a form of punishment he forced upon himself or whether it turned into the pleasureful high, he was in deep. Its only till Sam finds out that he realizes how far gone he is, and seeing Sam's horrified, heart broken face made him want to cry. Sam of course, moves in with Bucky to help him recover and leads to many nights of cuddling and crying over urges, movies as distractions, and occasional slip ups when Sam leaves him alone too long.

“We’ve had this conversation before and my point still stands,” Sam said. His hands hovered around his hips, as if he was thinking on his next move - he then settled on patting Bucky’s real shoulder. His hands were warm. “Bucky, hey. I talked to Sarah. The boys love you. The house needs some work and I could use you flexing that metal arm of yours around to help. It’s fine. You don’t have to be alone here eating- Man how much sushi have you been eating?”
“A lot,” Bucky answered sheepishly. He looked around to his barren apartment, not quite home, feeling the edges of Brooklyn lifting, a horror scene of exposed bones and old grief. He was so cold. “Just for a few days.”
“Sure,” Sam said, smiling summer and bright, “How long can this thing last, anyways?”
(After the Flag Smashers are dealt with, James Bucky Barnes is doing just fine - until a global pandemic hits, and then he realizes he hasn't been fine in a very long time.)

Bucky struggles to come to terms with his past and his memories. Bailey, for the first time, has to balance her natural powers and her professional skills. Working so closely together, feelings develop, but due to their professional relationship they can never come to be.
The fight for one another may be one of the biggest battle The White Strike and The Winter Soldier have faced so far.
