He blinks back to the present when Taro calls to him, pointing at his bowl. Oh. He hadn’t been paying attention. His hands must have moved on autopilot, dipping rice and opening the small single serving packet of bonito flakes.
“Yeah,” he answers blankly, and dumps on the flakes. They writhe and twist in the steam.
You wanna know why they move like that? It’s because they’re still writhing in pain from being sliced so thin!!
