“Mark,” Jeno says one day as they’re cuddling on the couch. His tone is serious which means Mark is giving him his full attention. “It might be a little late to tell you this, but,” Jeno takes a deep breath. “I’m a vampire.”
Mark had blinked at him, his eyebrows scrunching up as he processed what was just said to him. After a few moments of silence, his eyes light up and he snaps his fingers.
“Are we role playing? Sweet, I’ll be a werewolf then.”
“What?” Was the only thing Jeno could say.
“I’ll be a werewolf,” Mark grinned. “You know, grrr,” Mark tried his best to growl. “Sounds like fun, I’m in.”

Mark wants so much from Donghyuck, he accidentally starts domming him. It works out surprisingly well-- until it doesn't.

He covers his face with his hands and tries to think rationally, but that’s impossible when he just saw Jeno turn into a giant dog right in front of his eyes. He wonders if they’re both losing it, or if this could possibly be a really, really vivid dream—but he knows what he saw. He’s always been open minded to the supernatural, to the impossible, but seeing it, really experiencing this is making him struggle to keep his mind in his own body, to stay present in this moment. Jeno is running around the apartment as a dog-slash-wolf, Renjun is stuck here in Jeno’s bedroom without his phone, and he’s scared out of his mind about it all. This is real. This is happening.
If he follows this line of reasoning—if he accepts this absolute absurdity as the truth—then that really is Jeno out there. If Renjun is scared, he must be so much more terrified by this sudden transformation.

so so so so so incredibly good. this fic had me on my phone for hours and hours for days on end. every emotion felt tangible. i’d listen to the ambiance music and just /see/ everything happening and feel everything yeonjun was feeling as if they were my own emotions. the dying scenes felt personal. the connections felt personal. when i wasn’t reading i felt tense and anxious in my day to day life because /hello there’s a war going on/ and /beomgyu is still upset/ and so many other things. this story felt like my own. each character was so distinct in their personalities. i felt like i knew them so well and yet was left shocked everytime they did something that would hurt me even though it’s in their nature. very well written. i almost wish it didn’t end so abruptly, there’s so much more i wanted to know and see but. i guess it leaves room to imagine. things will get better
