Summary
Hawks' approach is languid, his expression is easy and open. Even knowing it's fake, Dabi can't see the cracks in the façade. Horrifying, really.
"Hey," Hawks greets as he enters the shadow of the alley. He then proceeds to crash against the brick wall at a glacial pace, face smooshed up against the brick and his shoulders and torso slumping to follow.
In half surprise, half genuine glee, Dabi cackles. Hawks' arm twitches at his side like maybe he'd flip Dabi off if he had the strength.
Dabi's still chuckling when he asks, "How ya feelin', hero?"
"Like shit," Hawks grumbles into the wall.
"You look it," Dabi assures him, grinning and pulling out his phone. He came all this way; Hawks can afford to wait a minute while Dabi gets a few pictures.
Trying to get a ride home from a party, Hawks misdials and gets Dabi. Dabi, thinking it'll be fun to see his "favorite hero" drunk out of his mind, agrees to help Hawks get home.
Things get a lot less fun when Dabi realizes Hawks isn't drunk.

Summary
Tomura can’t help but laugh at the irony. Here he is using his father’s embalmed, severed hand to calm himself down while his ‘actual’ father comes to pick him up. The morbidity of the idea sends him into a fit of manic cackles. He receives a few judgmental and disgusted stares from passersby but he doesn’t give a fuck.

The time is- the date, it's old. It's wrong. He knows this day. It's months behind where he should be. It's before Shigaraki woke up, before Touya revealed his identity to the world, before Keigo killed Twice. Hell, it's before Twice even slipped up and told him where Shigaraki was and what he was doing.
It's in the past. Far in the past.
That doesn't make any sense.

In the position Dabi’s in, sprawled out on his back with his dirty boots hanging off the end of the sofa, Hawks can make out the length of his body even beneath the coat. As he noticed last time they met, Dabi is slim, scrawny even, the figure of a man who hasn’t known the luxury of three balanced meals a day in quite some time. Perhaps he’s just naturally lean, perhaps he’s on some sort of drug.

When he informs him he's going to hold him under.
Or: Izuku was six years old, the year his uncle tried to drown him. He's still not certain he's forgiven him for it. But now, fifteen years later and having spent an adolescence in the shadow of his father, he thinks he understands.
