Lestat touches the tip of Daniel’s nose with a finger. “You’re the very first thing that has ever known him, Daniel Molloy. That feeling? That fucking fish hook around your ribs? That loneliness that is so vast the ocean appears shallow? There’s the gremlin.” He smiles, and Daniel actually thinks it’s genuine. “I never wanted to manage him. But I suppose that’s why he made you.”
(Daniel adjusts to being dead, goes on tour with Lestat, and spends nights in art museums with Louis. Armand is very Armand about it all).

Daniel expected Armand to step away, to close the door, and to leave entirely after he set his glasses down and threw his socks into the closet hamper. But he stood stock-still as a statue, the only evidence of life the movement of his eyes as he tracked Daniel’s steps around his bedroom. Fucking creep.They had another staring contest after Daniel pulled out a pair of pajama pants and an undershirt. Armand stepped over the threshold and sat cross-legged on the chest at the end of Daniel’s bed. He moved through the air as if he wasn’t bound by gravity as mortals were, or even as lesser vampires like Daniel were.
“I won’t look unless you ask me to,” Armand said, and what a choice of words that was.

“Gerard,” Mikey says, like that explains a damn thing. Frank doesn’t know anything about Mikey’s brother; he barely knows of the dude’s existence. “He sort of — he works with a lot of grief-stricken people.”
Frank rolls his eyes at the phrase grief-stricken. “What, another fucking shrink?”
“No.” Mikey gives him a sharp look. “He’s a medium.”

He drinks iced coffee when it's below zero outside and carries crystals in his pockets party for comfort and partly because they weigh him down like an anchor that refuses to sink.
Gerard Way finds himself in love during his sophomore year of university with a guy that he sometimes goes bowling with. This guy is named Frank Iero and runs a radio show after hours where he talks in a sexy rough voice about things that can get him into trouble if anyone bothers to listen. But Gerard listens.
Gerard Way can do magic. Lightbulbs shatter when he gets excited and he can walk through a thunderstorm in dry clothes. Yet he's powerless when it comes to Frank, and the relationship he's seeking ends up looking close to impossible from where he's standing. But he's in love, and love is patient and kind and shattered glass, shit like that. Love is something he deserves.

all works within inspired by the perennial classic mcr fic series unholyverse by bexless. like many mcr fans and fic readers, i was immediately and completely obsessed with it as soon as i finished it. i didn't want it to be over, so i... made it not be over.
i am in no way trying to replace bexless and the entire reason this series is named that is because i'm very much the store-brand version, but everything in here is written with the utmost love and respect for the originals, and that's what i hope comes across. no idea if or when i'll write more, or how long they'll be if i do, but now i've written twice for it so it's gotta be a series, right?

Now, three months after, Gerard is one of the Afflicted and he's going to escape from the Facility. He has to, that was the promise that he made before he was taken, one that he refuses to break. Now, the only question for him, is how? The outlook seems bleak. But he can't spend forever trapped.
Frank, a new arrival at the Facility, has no hope left. He's been sent to an uncertain fate, but he's not even certain if he cares. What's the point anyway?
Maybe it's accident, maybe it's destiny. But somehow, the other happens to be the answer to their question.
