Stede has a wife and kids at home and not a lot of will to leave.

Set in the same timeline as an earlier story, A Lighthouse To Each Other, but can be read on its own. All you need to know is that Lucius is hiding from the law in a draughtsman's office in Barbados, and that he has been for years corresponding with one of his younger sisters (he has two younger and at least three older).
