Summary
Stede gets a book about pirates from his brother-in-law. Inside, he finds a curious name—his name, Stede Bonnet. It's barely a mention, two measly paragraphs in a longer story about the legendary Blackbeard, with whom he apparently sailed for a time. That night, he dreams about Ed. He learns he already knows more than he'll find in any book.
And Ed? Ed dreams too. He dreams about drowning, mostly.
Until he sees Stede.
The title comes from my best girl Margaret Lanterman, AKA The Log Lady, in one of her iconic Twin Peaks episode intros: "The beautiful thing about treasure is that it exists. It exists to be found."

It’s Stede’s first time going to a haunted attraction. He picks the VIP option, a more extreme experience which allows actors to touch the patrons.
-- Edward Teach has been working as a haunt actor for many seasons. This year he’s been hired by an attraction where actors are permitted to touch guests to give them an extra scare. “Pirates, is it?”“Please don’t tease. I really don’t think I can handle any more ridicule today.”
“Shit, no I didn’t mean it like that. I’m a bit of a pirate nerd myself. Can I show you something?” He began unbuttoning his dress shirt before Stede could form the words to answer.
“What are you doing?” he started to ask, trailing off quickly as his mouth went dry at the sight of the man’s bare chest where he had pulled his undershirt all the way up. Stede was too distracted to finish speaking by the overall impression: a canvas of ink covered skin, muscular and soft in all the right places, a tantalizing trail of dark hair leading Stede’s eyes down, down…
Fuck. Focus, Bonnet.
He dragged his focus back to the inked images which were surely the point of this man’s public indecency.

Summary
When their eyes met next, something magical and dangerous and unspoken passed between them. Stede’s hands lingered on Ed’s shin for an instant too long, and Ed knew, intellectually, that this spelled out nothing but trouble. He found that he simply did not care. It couldn’t even be his fault, really, if he got caught up in the moment. Stede was magnetic and beautiful and rare like a precious stone, and the way he looked at Ed, like he was fascinating and important and like he knew things, well. Anyone could be forgiven for going a little bit insane about that, couldn't they?

The year is 1903. Edward Teach, intrepid reporter and wilderness guide, general bad ass, is not pleased to be spending the summer writing a glorified gossip column and drafting the travel guide that his editor is insisting he write. Stede Bonnet, Boulder Valley's newest resident, is just trying to figure out what to do with his life.
They don't have much in common, or at least they shouldn't on paper, but when Ed enlists Stede's help in writing his book they forge a fast friendship. That wouldn't be a problem, except that Ed is very much falling in love with him, and the rough and tumble Rocky Mountains are no place for that.

Summary
Ever since the ship's co-captains returned from their short lived service to the crown, life on board The Revenge has been great. Ships have been plundered, gold has been collected, but there's one thing that hasn't seemed right about the situation.
Whether it's multiple lovers, a mate, or a one night stands, Pirates are known to be amorous individuals. Unless you are a gentleman pirate, in which case you're quite fine on your own. It’s been longer than three-to-five minutes.
A quick glance at the clock reveals it’s been far, far longer than three-to-five minutes.
Stede doesn’t mind, obviously. And Ed doesn’t seem to be about to question it. But the snide little Lucius-like voice in the back of his mind points out that almost twenty fucking minutes is maybe a bit of an overkill.
Stede yanks his hands away from Ed’s hair like it’s covered in bleach.
“Okey-doke!” Stede manages, voice shrill and a little strangled.
From across the salon, the real Lucius snorts.
(OR: Stede's a hair stylist. Ed shows up for an appointment. And shows up. And shows up. And shows up...)

Summary
Andalite scientist Stedeth-Esgarrouth-Bonnetil crash lands in an abandoned construction site, pursued by the vicious Visser Four, a high level leader in the Yeerk invasion of Earth. A small motley crew of humans rescues him, and in return he gives them the power to morph—to turn into animals—so that they can resist the quiet but destructive war being waged on their world.
Ed Teach’s mom went missing a long time ago. He’s worked through it, goes to therapy, owns his bar; while it wasn’t exactly what he expected, life has been pretty good. Still, he was thinking about packing it all in, until he sees a falling star and encounters a blue four-legged alien called Stede.
Their meeting will change everything.

Summary
Stede is thirty five, never married, and convinced love might just not be in the cards for him. When his father arranges a marriage for him with Mary Allamby to cement a business alliance, he agrees, even if he fears this won’t work out. Mary seems nice enough and he’s tired of being alone.
As he makes his way from his hometown of Auckland to Perth for the wedding, he keeps bumping into the handsome but annoying Ed Teach. As misadventure after misadventure delays them both on their journeys, they finally decide working together might get them both there faster.
As the two travel across Australia, Stede starts questioning everything he thought to be true, about himself, about his life, and about just what is important to him.
