With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.

Performance Issues, HotGuy?
By GrianIn recent weeks, HotGuy has been leaving much to be desired on the battlefield. It seems after many long, hard fights, he just can’t keep it up. He used to be quite anal about his victories, but now he’s had a few close calls. Could it be that his arrows just aren’t what they used to be? Is he firing blanks? I wouldn’t be surprised if his enemies are having to fake their defeat. Of course, HotGuy is far from the only man who struggles to hit the target, so maybe I shouldn’t be so harsh.

He was particular with his tosses, he was particular about strategy, and he was particular about even the smallest of errors. But more than anything else, he was particular with Hinata, always yelling at him for bumping into him during practice, or a lousy serve, or a poor receive.

Every day when he walks into the gym, he knows he’s safe. He knows that so deep in his bones that he doesn’t even startle when someone yells one touch! or slaps him on the back after a nice play, doesn’t flinch when he makes a mistake that costs them a point.
They want him to be there. When he has to skip a few practices in a row, the next time he manages to come, everyone beams at him as he comes into the gym with shouts of welcome back! and good to have you again! and chats happily with him as they practice. And Hinata is able to reciprocate: he is able to look the others in the eye and hold a conversation with them about everything and nothing, with good-natured ribbing and then some.
Hinata has never been able to do that with anyone before them, except Kageyama. There’s no anger, no questions, and most of all, Hinata has no fear.
A family, Hinata thinks, then smiles down at the floor. Yeah, this is what a family is.
Or: sometimes, you need others to help you move forward.
