Maybe Xu Shanshan was lying and Qiao Ling's in on it. This is just Lu Guang. He doesn't like Cheng Xiaoshi! That's perposterous!
"N'thing," Cheng Xiaoshi says around the paper. If he pretends it's like gum, he can actually imagine it tastes okay. Eating paper doesn't have long-term health defects, does it?
Cheng Xiaoshi thinks that Lu Guang might yell. He might sigh and turn away again. He might scoff and say, "Stop being weird."
Instead, there's an upturn of Lu Guang's lips, a pretty thing on his pretty face. He smiles, so small Cheng Xiaoshi bets he can't even feel it on himself, but he sees it anyway because he's so laser-focused on his mouth.
He turns away and he smiles, and he says, fondly, "Really, Cheng Xiaoshi, what will we do with you."
Absently, as the paper dissolves in his mouth, dried graphite fading away, Cheng Xiaoshi thinks, FUCK.

Did he say scary? No, no, no. He’s not afraid of anything, especially not him. Medicine residents are the nerds of the hospital, and if Cheng Xiaoshi is going to be scared of something, it’s certainly not a nerd!
Even if he was intimidating. And frigid – like, ice cold. But at the same time, he’s kinda hot, right?

They get to the elevator and Cheng Xiaoshi finally looks over at Lu Guang. Maybe Lu Guang wants to instigate another fight. Maybe he wants an excuse to get closer to Cheng Xiaoshi without admitting to the reason why.
Lu Guang only knows one thing, looking at Cheng Xiaoshi and his ethereal fucking face with the way the elevator lights shine and reflect off each curve and ripple of every muscle. He can’t deny it anymore, no matter how much he may disgust himself later on. Right now, it all seems so insignificant. He just wants to wipe that confused look off Cheng Xiaoshi’s face, and replace it with something more intimate.
OR
Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi are not exactly fond of each other. Unfortunately, they both work at a private detective agency and Qiao Ling's word is the word of the heavens for them. Which is how they find themselves stuck with each other on a boat in the middle of the ocean for two weeks, and the twist? They have to pretend to be in a romantic relationship with each other.
