Summary
Aziraphale has read every book in his shop at least once. He has reread some of his favored volumes dozens of times, has memorized whole great swaths of them. If his own words are insufficient to convince Crowley of his sincerity, then perhaps the words of others can!
(He might have the decency to ask the books what they thought of this plan. The books had been watching the two of them for over a hundred years, and certainly had a great deal to say on the matter. But Aziraphale neglects to consult them, and thus will be very unprepared for what happens next.)
Back on earth, Aziraphale tries to apologize.

Summary
“You look –” Stede steps forward, and if she says “pretty,” Ed thinks she might tear her own face off. She doesn’t mind that sometimes, but tonight she wants to be something different.
“Astonishing,” Stede says, moving closer, close enough to touch. Her fingers land on the lapel of Ed’s velvet coat, smoothing the grain of it. “The most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.”
“Beautiful." Ed's voice is unfamiliar to her, a low rasp.
“Handsome,” Stede says quietly, and the word catches in Ed’s throat like a diamond.

Summary
Izzy and Ed are injured, lost, and desperate after a deal goes wrong. A beautiful blond maniac offers them a ride and then offers them a place to stay. Surely there won't be any romantic or life-affirming repercussions.

Summary
Edward "Blackbeard" Teach is a grunge rock legend, a wildly successful outsider artist. Stede Bonnet is a conventional, clean-cut crooner with more than a few Christmas albums to his name.
They meet at the Oscars, when each of them is nominated for Best Original Song.
Things are about to get... weird.

Summary
“I heard you’re a writer,” Blackbeard says.
There’s a sudden rustling sound as Blackbeard kicks something across the floor. Frenchie bends down to retrieve it, and sees that it’s a notebook. Wide and empty, like that one Lucius used to carry around with him.
“Write us a better ending then.”
(Captain Blackbeard has heard about Frenchie’s ‘bit of fanfiction.’ He asks him to write a better ending for his and Stede’s story. Frenchie tries his best but soon other people want to tell the story the way it should have gone, including Fang, Lucius, Ivan, Jim, and ultimately Ed. In the act of surviving and telling stories together, relationships are considered, examined, and developed. Meanwhile, a ship trailing seagulls grows closer and closer on the horizon.)

Summary
Sailors call them watermarks. A gift from the sea, a name or symbol written on your chest, meant to guide you to your own true love.
But Stede Bonnet's mark doesn't look like anything at all. Not really. And it certainly doesn't look like 'Edward' or 'Teach' or 'Blackbeard' or a black beard and that's fine. Completely fine.
Ed's absolutely fine with it.

It doesn't mean anything.
And they don't fit into each other's lives.
And it definitely won't happen again.

Summary
The thing is, when you’re Blackbeard you’ve got kind of a reputation to uphold. When you captain a ship, when you lead a crew, when people look up to you, tell stories, build a legend – parts of that legend are always more accurate than others.
And maybe you just let it slide, some of the things people say. Some of the things they assume. Maybe you swagger around and wear black leather and are a handsy bastard and let the stories tell themselves.
Maybe you don't want to talk about it.

Summary
It is 1844. Britain is still recovering from the disaster in Afghanistan. Across the ocean, Morse has just sent his first telegram, racing invisibly across wires as thin as a ledger line. And in Europe, a red-haired pianist named Antonin Crowley is bringing audiences to the point of rioting with his dreadful compositions.
Aziraphale Fell doesn't care for that at all.
