Summary
Tony Stark didn't expect Mary Fitzpatrick, or the news she delivered. He didn't expect that he would become a father, or that he would actually enjoy it. He didn't expect Penny to love him just as fiercely as he did her.
He didn't expect to lose her so soon.
In the wake of the loss of his daughter he tried--tried to do right by her. He became Iron Man, he was an Avenger, he protected his world because he couldn't protect his daughter, but through it all, he hoped to be reunited with his daughter.
He didn't expect to be alive when he was.

Summary
It's only been a couple of months since the multiverse fiasco that completely changed Peter's life. He had to label it specifically as the multiverse one considering the amount of other fiascos that had also turned his life into complete mayhem, though the teenager was pretty sure this was the biggest mess so far.
After all, he was seventeen, broke, working two jobs on top of being Spider-Man, and he was alone. So, so alone. He'd given up trying to tell anyone from before about their lost memories. They didn't need him. MJ and Ned would be off to MIT in the fall and Happy would do just fine on his own.
Yeah... Peter didn't need to bring them back into any of this.

Peter hadn't quite gotten used to the bleakness yet, and he didn't want to. There was still hope after all. Even if he and Happy were the last New Yorkers left in a city of 8.4 million. There had to be other people alive, other groups of survivors across America, waiting for a cure. Because there had to be a way to more than survive this, even if the virus had wiped out the Avengers in a day...
He shook his head of the thought, squaring his shoulders and resuming his vigilant watch from atop the nondescript gray building he had called home the last couple of days. There was hope, and Peter would help the ragtag team that adopted him into their ranks to see it, even though he was sure they didn't see it like he did. There had to be hope after all. Humanity couldn't end because of one mistake. Aunt May couldn't be gone forever. Ned couldn't be a zombie without being allowed to have had a nerd-freak out over the whole thing. Mr. Stark couldn't be replaced by a husk of his former self.
AKA Our favorite ragtag group lives through the zombie apocalypse.

Penny had been invisible.
From as far back as she could remember up until her father had returned from Afghanistan, the girl had had no idea what it was like to be a part of a family. She'd had vague ideas, from the kids at pre-school and then at elementary school. Friends had talked about what they'd done with their parents over the weekend, often with a sibling or two attached. They'd talk about trips and games and, what had made her most jealous of all, birthday parties.
Penny hadn't really had birthdays. And especially not parties.
But, with Pepper pregnant and every moment being dedicated to the coming baby, Penny is really looking forward to this one day.

Three years later, he's attending ESU, trying to work three jobs alongside getting two degrees, and still going out as Spider-Man. He's fine, really. Everything is just fine. That is until a run-in with the law and a DNA test shatter the carefully constructed facade that Peter had made his life.

“Your blood matches a sample the FBI has on file from a kidnapping case.” Agent Carisi opens the thicker file. “A four-year-old boy taken while on vacation with his father about twenty years ago.”
Peter’s breathing speeds up.
“Authorities took fingerprint and DNA samples from the boy’s room, and at the father’s behest, we continue to test them against any that are placed within any system we have access to.”
A piece of paper with lab results lays atop the file. It gets picked up and placed on the table.
