    “Repo’s getting away!” Mikey said.

    “Not if I have anything to say about it!” Leo said. “And let’s face it, when don’t I have something to say?” Energy coursed through his veins like lightning as he charged up his ninpo, preparing to teleport. “Portals ahoy!”

    The familiar warmth of his ninpo suddenly became ice cold, but by the time Leo noticed it was too late. He was already halfway through the portal, and he couldn’t backpedal. All he could do was scream as he left New York and fell towards the bottom of a rocky ravine.

    It had been a while since Leo has had trouble with his portals, so when he steps into one and never reappears, it takes his family by surprise. As they look for him, they find themselves grappling with loss and discovering long-forgotten family secrets. Meanwhile, Leo's search for a way back home sends him on a journey across space and time.
