“Do you know how hard it is to watch you with them? To see their hands all over you?” He squeezed ever so slightly, and Will let out a quiet whimper. “Sometimes, when you had guys over, I’d listen. I’d hear you moan, and I’d touch myself and imagine it was me making you sound like that,” he whispered, pressing a kiss behind Will’s ear. Will’s eyes fluttered shut, and he could practically feel them rolling to the back of his head as he imagined it: Mike fucking into his own fist, thinking about Will getting fucked on the other side of the wall. Will hated him for not saying anything.
Will rolled his hips forward, a strangled moan falling from his lips. The grip on his throat tightened, and Mike’s other hand grabbed at his thigh, digging into his flesh through the jeans. Will stilled instantly. Mike made a content noise before his loosened his hold, trailing his lips along Will’s jaw. “You moan like a slut, Will. So I’m gonna fuck you like one.”

“Yeah?” She looked back at Jane, who was shocked to see a twinge of hurt behind her eyes, but it was gone as quick as it had appeared.
“Boys are allowed to kiss boys,” She began, focusing intensely on making sure her words came out as intended.
“Yeah.”
Her voice was a whisper now, a secret question approaching her lips.
“Can girls kiss girls?”
Max’s eyes flashed with something Jane didn’t recognize. She felt a strange flutter low in her abdomen and squeezed her thighs inward as if to silence it.
“Y-yeah. They can.” For a split second, Max’s eyes traveled down to Jane’s lips, and the flutter became a pulsing heat that she couldn't ignore. She thought back to the last few months with Max. The way they had slept curled into one another, the way they would brush each other's hair, fingers grazing necks and shoulder blades in a way that could pass as an accident if no one admitted to it. She knew, then, why Max reminded her so much of Mike. Why Max felt like a better version of him.

The ball comes faster than he expects. Mike reaches up, fingers skimming rubber, and immediately loses control of it. It bonks off his hands, rebounds off his shoulder, and in his attempt to recover he stumbles backward—Right into Will.
Will lets out a surprised laugh as Mike lands against his chest, water sloshing up around them. Mike freezes, every nerve in his body lighting up at once. Will’s hands come up automatically, steadying him by the arms, trying to push him upright again.
“You good?” Will asks, still laughing, breath warm against the back of Mike’s neck.
Mike’s skin feels like it’s on fire. Will’s chest is solid and warm against his back, their bodies pressed close in a way that is absolutely not helping anything. Mike scrambles for footing, face burning, heart threatening to burst straight out of him.
“Yeah—yeah,” he says quickly, pushing himself forward and away before his brain completely abandons him.

Summary
Both of their bodies shake as they catch their breath. Will’s still hard, and his sweat is starting to dry uncomfortably on his skin, but all he can focus on is Mike.
It’s times like these he’s reminded how lucky he is to have Mike in this way. To see this side of him, this side that still feels too new and too intimate and too overwhelming all at once. Sometimes, he thinks he may be bitter. Resentful of his lot in life, being so painfully in love with someone who will so obviously never feel the same way. On his bad days, he even thinks he might resent Mike.
Like this, though, he knows that could never be true. Not really. Sure, it hurts, only ever having Mike halfway, knowing his body but never his soul. Yes, it’s going to kill him when Mike inevitably finds someone new and runs off into the sunset, leaving him in the dust again.
But it’s Mike. He'll take whatever he can get.
When he and Mike end up in bed together after graduation, they fall into something dangerously easy. Or, at least, it would be easy, if it weren't the most painful thing Will's ever done.

There’s a long exhale behind him and then he hears a breath hitch.
“It’s my problem and you told me to deal with it,” Mike breathes. “So, I’m dealing with it.” Will wishes so badly he had something to physically throw at him. But he doesn’t, so he remains frozen there with his eyes closed and his nails digging into the palms of his hands. “That’s what you said, isn’t it?”
Mike seriously needs therapy, he thinks.
“I’m going to kick your ass if your hand’s on your dick right now,” Will protests, although nothing about his tone is even the slightest bit threatening.
“You’ll have to turn around to find out.”

Will’s face hurt from trying not to smile like an idiot. “Really?”
“Guys,” Lucas cut in, exasperated. “Get your own channel if you’re going to flirt.”
Mike confesses his love in subtle ways at the end of the world. It takes a minute for Will to catch up.

William got to his feet and turned around, prayer book clutched to his chest. Michael was standing in the center of the chapel, obviously just come from sparring practice. He was still wearing his dented cuirass, a leather pauldron on his right shoulder. The moonlight through the stained-glass windows painted him in blue and gold.
“Forgot to leave your armor behind in the gymnasium?” asked William lightly, skirting around him to set the prayer book back in its tabernacle.
“Something like that,” said Michael. He stepped out of the shaft of light, joining William at the perimeter of the circular room.
William closed the ornate wooden door of the tabernacle and turned to face him. “How did you know I’d be here?”
“I know you,” Michael said simply. I love you, he might as well have said, for the way it sent William’s heart skittering inside his chest.
Michael has been betrothed to the princess since their infancy. But it’s her brother he really wants.

“I have an idea,” says Mike.
Ice cubes form in Will’s stomach. “How dangerous is it? Like, should I call Dustin to talk you down, or should I call Nancy to be ready to drive us to the hospital?”
“No,” says Mike, “you can’t tell anyone or it won’t work.”
“Or what won’t work?” Will asks. It’s like picking up a rock you know a spider will be under.
Mike gets up and closes Will’s door. Hopper doesn’t make them keep it open but sometimes Will does anyway, because every now and then lying around alone with Mike on his bed just makes his chest ache too much. If the door is open he can tell himself You can’t do anything right now, someone will see.
Mike leans back against the door. His eyes are lit up with that special maniacal gleam that the Wheelers get right before they do something insane, like when Nancy says, “Then we have to go kill Vecna ourselves,” or whatever. “Take me to the wedding,” says Mike.
“Yeah,” says Will slowly, “you’ll be at the wedding. Obviously.”

Will was all out of excuses to keep avoiding Mike. He didn’t think he’d be strong enough to keep avoiding Mike either way - not with Mike calling him everyday- but this feels entirely too soon, the memories still fresh. Will feels that if he even thinks about Mike he could feel the phantom of Mike’s fingers digging into his hips, his lips pressing into Wills’ pulse, the thickness of his hair between Wills’ fingers.
The Wheeler’s front door opens on its own, and Will jumps from where he’s standing, letting out a small yelp in surprise.

What is wrong with him. It’s such a loaded question. Why does Will wake up screaming sometimes? Why can’t Will handle the cold? Why are there days when Carlton’s hands on him feel like being kept under water with no way up?
And why can’t Will tell Carlton the truth? How could Will possibly explain it without sounding insane? What is the human translation for being taken and kept in another dimension, violated, and possessed, only to then be violated yet again—
This part of him is something Will is never going to be able to share with anyone else. That nobody would understand.

The first time it happens, Will classifies it as a little accident.
When he wakes, the morning sun is burning through the window onto their faces, and Mike’s cursing as he stands to close the curtains, stumbling all the way.
“Scoot over,” he grumbles, voice dry, and for a second Will can’t do anything other than sigh like a lovesick idiot. It’s a second too late for Mike, because he grumbles more words Will doesn’t catch under his breath and then physically pushes Will towards the wall to lay beside him, arm over Will’s middle. A second of silence passes, then Mike sighs, only to whine: “Fuck, my head hurts.”
Will can’t help it: he breaks down laughing, much to Mike’s offense.
