Summary
Zanka feels off. He felt so dead inside. No matter how much he fights, he achieves, he will always be an 'Average Joe'.
"I'm just an average joe, useless like always, aren't i?", he asks himself, but not even the mirror can reflect his appearance of disgust. He feels so ugly, so distorted, so broken, but it was only time until he decides to commit.
"I'm sorry everyone, i'm just an average joe. I'm not good enough. I will never be good enough. I'm sorry, thank you, and goodbye.", He mutters, as he smiles into nothingness, leaving a hanging body where he last stood.
But even someone like him can be redeemed, with a family like them, he will be brought back from hell and back, and into their arms.
(Chapter 1 will be very Zanka focused, and then the rest will be all together!)

Summary
Hunger can be ignored. It can be buried, restrained, controlled. Zanka has learned how to do all of that.
What he hasn’t learned is how to deal with someone who looks at him like he wants to see what happens when he stops trying.

Zanka Nijiku transfers to a new school with one goal to blend in, act normal, stay unnoticed, keep his hunger under control.
It would have been easy. lf not for one particular classmate.
Jabber Wonger is strange. Observant. Too interested. And the more he watches Zanka, the harder it becomes to pretend nothing is wrong.
Because Jabber isn’t just curious, he’s hunting.

Zanka‘s facade of the natural talent was destroyed by two people.

The second one did care. Cared so much for the reactions from the other one. The words.Or: Jabber transferred to Zanka‘s school and beats Zanka‘s score in every test he takes. Summary
Zanka had finally thought he'd broken free from the expectations that came with being born into the Nijiku family; running away to pursue his dream and go to University for design, moving into an apartment with the person he loved even if they were a guy, and choosing to do what made him happy even if it went against everything he'd been taught.
At least that was until him and Jabber got into an arguement, causing Jabber to leave and Zanka to return to the place he'd fought so hard to escape.
Or, a Janka fic based on the song and music video/animation of Madd's Buckley's Sitting Pretty. (If you haven't watched the animation please do before reading this, same goes for the song!)

Jabber was given a very simple job—an easier one than all of the others Zodyl’s ever given him in the past! Gain the Cleaner’s trust, get to a position where he has access to a lot of information, give it the bossman and watch the entire HQ crumble and burn in a dumpster fire. Easy, right?
Too simple—the way they take him with a few bats of his eyes, the way they believe his technical truths. (He’s never liked lying.) He won’t be there for long, he tells himself. It won’t mean anything, if he stays during movie nights instead of immediately retreating to his room. It won’t mean anything if he’s giggling while sitting on counter tops while Zanka and Riyo cook. It won’t matter if he ruffles Rudo’s hair or let Enjin put a hand on his shoulder. It shouldn’t matter. It won’t matter.
He’s still got a relatively easy job to do. And a reward to gain. How hard can it be?

If there was one thing that Zanka had to show for himself in this unforgiving world, it was his resilience.
Or: the one in which Zanka has to confront his own perception of himself and his views of his own abilities after the fight leaves him with permanent injuries that he may not come back from. Somehow, a certain someone knows it didn't lower his potential... he still has the room to adapt.

Zanka doesn’t say anything. He stares at him, looking for any sign of sarcasm or lies. But he only finds the darkness of truth seeping from Jabber’s eyes.
Oh.
Of course he’s going to die.Zanka doesn't have much long left, and he can't die. Not like this. He refuses hurt the people around him any more, even if it means working with Jabber. Even if it means trusting his life into the Raider's hands.
He will live.

Numbness spreads first up his arm, and then to his torso, and his body falls as nonexistent hands wrap around his neck. Another failure, another day. The one reprieve offered up to him—he won't die. Jabber wouldn't let him go so easily, not when he's yet to have given the older boy a proper beat down.
Zanka can taste the steady trickle of blood as it slakes down his throat, all of his muscles tensed in a vain attempt to resist the poison. Even if he has a better tolerance than most due to his and Jabber's constant escapades, it's not enough. Maybe it never will be. Maybe it would be better if this was his death. Choke on his own blood, die in battle. Die useful.

Summary
After a failed suicide attempt Zanka gets admitted into a psych ward with some peculiar staff and patients. He hadn't ever had genuine connections and didn't see the need for any but the staff are starting to feel oddly like what he'd heard described as family and a certain patient keeps pestering him. He hates it till he doesn't.
Can this psych ward give Zanka a second chance at life? or will even this end in failure like everything else in Zanka's life seems to.
