Summary
“You— You shouldn’t… you shouldn’t.” Simon doesn’t elaborate. Ryland doesn’t need him to. They both know that being seen like this would be a catastrophic mistake. Because Simon has an issue, and he suspects that Ryland might have one too.
Simon really, really likes Ryland. He likes him a lot. He likes the way he smiles at him, wide and bright, and the way that his hands feel, securing bandages over his arm.
OR
Simon and Ryland grow up on Eden together. It doesn’t change much.

Summary
Captain Simon Park and his crew agree to kidnap Lord Ryland Grace for ransom.
It ought to be simple enough: take the supposedly sickly heir from his father’s estate, keep him safely aboard the Iron Starling for a handful of weeks, and return him once Count Grace decides his only son is worth paying for.
Except Ryland is neither sickly nor difficult. He is polite, capable, strangely resigned to his own captivity—and, before long, slipping into lessons beneath the open sky, shared meals, borrowed names, and the quiet rituals of a crew that has made a family out of the unwanted.
Then the ransom goes unanswered.
And Simon begins to wonder whether anyone ashore ever intended for Lord Ryland Grace to come home at all.

Summary
On their way to Erid, Grace and Rocky encounter a submarine with a giant tree right through the middle. Inside they find and rescue a man who is the spitting image of Ryland's former boyfriend Dave. The man is infact not Dave but Simon, a former convict thrown through the fabric of time and space to end up falling for a man seemingly only interested in his unexpected twin. Simon just wanted to live, that wish was granted, and now he just wants to be loved. No matter the cost.
Future excerpt:
- It’s not just your face.
Grace said quietly.
- It’s your expressions, body language, your voice. Even his laugh…
He lowered his head as Simon watched with pained eyes, “…his laugh…”, he thought to himself “…his…”. Simon could only think of a handful of times he had laughed as heartly as he had just a moment ago, it might as well not be his own.Bookmarked by nelliamous

Summary
Dr. Ryland Grace has been stressing about the Petrova Problem all summer, unable to do anything about it, but the new botany teacher takes his mind off of the impending catastrophe. He's had relationships in the past, though none of his past partners have ever captured his attention like Mr. Fisher
Mr. Simon Fisher has been working towards his botany degree and science teacher certification, but his past continues to haunt him. Between the cult that raised him and the harrowing oil rig work, he is plagued by nightmares. Maybe the angel of a man who teaches in the room next to him will accept his past and his quickly growing feelings.
OR Dr. Ryland Grace is a teacher at Grover Cleveland Middle School and has a new classroom neighbor.
This will eventually follow the plot of Project Hail Mary, but with Simon and Grace having a well established relationship before the book starts.

Simon’s fucking stupid. He’s always been self-deprecating, but right now he really wants to brain himself on a concrete wall.
Why’d he put on the cardigan?
Why’d he put on the goddamn cardigan?
Because it smells too good, obviously.
Noxiously sweet, like his nose is pressed to Grace’s jugular vein. Temptation, deep and dark as sin, flits through his lungs.
Elongated canines strain against Simon’s gums. His tongue taps one and it’s sharp as a blade.
Shit.
He’s playing a dangerous game, testing his willpower like this.

Soulmate AU: Simon wakes up alive after the blood ocean to find a man far too clean and pretty to be COI or Eden. After trying to help him escape whatever god-forsaken station they are prisoners on (Erid) and fighting terrifying, faceless rock beasts (Eridians), Simon discovers a soulmate mark on Ryland Grace's left, heavily scarred arm: the match to one Simon once had before he tore the limb from his body.

Rylie is definitely staring. It’s getting to the point that if she doesn’t stop, it will start to become a problem. Most likely.
Okay. It’s already a problem, who is she kidding.
It’s just that… after so long not being around any other humans, now that she has someone else around, she’s been getting a bit…
…Fixated.
On Simone.

"Tell me to stop."
"No," Grace whispers.
"Tell me this is wrong," Simon persists, near-begging—even as he gets closer. Even as they both do, because whatever the fuck this thing is between them, it runs both ways and always has. "Tell me it's tearing us apart."
Grace trembles. He knows he should. He knows this is wrong, and that this kind of want ruins you.
But again: "No."
And Simon smiles.
"That's my Angel."
Or: After receiving a distress signal from AT-5, Grace and Rocky bring Simon back to Erid. Unfortunately, something from the blood ocean follows them home.

"If you blow up, you take the whole of Spring Station with you. I'm not going to wait around to find out that you got bored and did something stupid."
Grace shoves both of his hands into his hair and groans at the ceiling.
"I don't need a babysitter," he grits out, dropping his hands. "No offense - actually, full offense - I'm sick of you."
"Then hurry up and fix it if you want me gone," Simon retorts, his jaw ticking."I don't know how."
Simon, who's clearly lost his patience, leans forward and hisses, "Then we're obviously fucking stuck with each other."

Summary
“Do you… do you want to get out of it?”
Simon swallows, breathes in and out very slowly.
“It’s not possible,” he whispers. “I don’t know anything else."
“I know it’s not simple, but it can be done. I promise you Simon, it can be done! There is always an out, there is always an option! You can always run away from it!”
Simon looks at him. He takes his time tracing the edges of his face, the nearly perfectly round mole at the bottom corner of his left eye, the straight nose, the pouty lips and the light stubble. Then back up to his eyes and the little frown between his brows, dark pupils sparking with stardust.
He looks beautiful like that, earnest with conviction, so sure that Simon could have another future, if only he seized it. It feels so simple when he looks at the man telling him to just run. But Simon doesn’t know where to run to, so he stays put.
“You’re very pretty,” he blurts out.

Or: Simon lives to serve the Church of Eden, the community that raised him. Under the leadership of the Father, that community slowly turned into a gang, and Simon into a soldier. He’s fine with that: he doesn’t know anything else.

Grace assumed he was a streamer.
«...Was that the Bite of '87?» The man's voice was low and rough, sending an inexplicable shiver down Grace's spine. He firmly decided not to examine that reaction any further, lest he embarrass himself in front of his students. The rest of the screen exploded with messages from what Grace assumed must have been a live chat.
