Summary
This was originally fanfiction written for a very niche, underground petsite, posted to their forums. I haven't touched it in a year, and I don't feel like logging in to that petsite, so I'm porting it here in hopes that might motivate me to start working on it again.
The forums had a character limit, so now that I don't have that constraint, chapters will slowly be edited to have more content, better writing, and lore explanations for a gen audience. Once that's cleaned up, I hope to put out actually new chapters, god willing.
The broad strokes are: chronically ill asshole, chewed up and spat out by the forces of unmaking, tries to regain their memory and identity, while also raising a Cosmically Assigned Pet Bird. Shenanigans ensue.

Dr. Freeman is a bright young researcher in his late twenties, recently assigned to Site-██. He encounters a D-class designated as D-64242-35, and afterwards finds himself acting anomalously. Rather than acting rationally and informing his superiors, Dr. Freeman instead pulls a series of increasingly ridiculous stunts to keep both D-64242-35 and himself safe. Other researchers who observe these events wonder how long he can keep this up before the big idiot gets himself killed, or worse.NOTE: This fic is discontinued. Because I am re-writing it!
