When living for nearly 200 years there is not much more a surprise to face. There has been the plague, and then the other great plagues and the new inventions (no flying cars), different laws and trends. There is nothing left to shock a vampire who has adapted into the monotonous ways of how a human life is supposed to be run by all of the new laws of instilled ethics-until his own is somehow snuffed out by a means outside of his own hands.
Except falling in love with a person out of that perfectly set up average life and routine.
Or Vampire Mike Wheeler and Will Byers catch a zing in the Taco Bell Drive Thru.

“What are you talking about?” he asked carefully, knitting his brows together as he scanned Will’s face for any sort of indication of what’s really going on. Will looked back at him, and besides the dull shadow in his irises, there was nothing wrong or different about the Will standing in front of him.
Which somehow made it worse, almost, when Will spoke next. “I think he was right about me not belonging here.”
Mike shook his head, trying to focus on the facts of the situation, trying to figure out where Will’s mind had even gone to think like this. “Will, Henry is dead. Why are you even talking about this?”
Will let out a sick, twisted laugh. “He’s not dead, Mike.” Slowly, he raised his hand, pointing at his head. “He’s right here.”

Mike turns around and sees Will standing in the middle of the hallway and stops.
"Hey," he says. "Can I help you find something?"
His voice in person is slightly different from the radio. This is the version before the edit. Louder, and a little breathless from arguing, and entirely unaware of how often Will had listened to him.
"I'm here about a logo commission," Will says. He sounds, he thinks, almost normal. Even with his brain operating at half-capacity.
Mike's eyebrows go up in surprise. "We're getting a new logo?"
