Summary
They’ve been teammates for over two years, and road roommates for almost as long, so why has Fitzgerald never invited him to his home or asked him to hang out? Why has he never suggested a meal after a game or offered him a lift home?
It’s hard playing in the NHL, being surrounded by guys who you know will look at you differently if they ever find out the truth, but he’s tried his best to be a good teammate, and a good room mate to Fitzgerald. Perhaps he hasn't tried hard enough?

Being neurodivergent is a blessing in some ways, the focus on perfection, the obsession and commitment, the pure joy of repeated actions and routines, the never ending energy and the mental feeling of being young even as your body gets older. BUT being neurodivergent comes with it's struggles, it's disabilites, and its traumas, and it gives need for accomodations, for support and for love.

Summary
Being the best can make you stand out, it can make people angry and, in the competitive environment of Junior hockey, it can make you a target and not just for the opposition.
But if you hear your name called first, if you get to pull a Penguins jersey over your head and shake hands with Mario Lemieux, if you get to take your place as the next generation while Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Fleury take you along on their drive to win another cup, its all worth it.
