CC-2224 is a good soldier. Good soldiers follow orders. This is the way things go. Except there's a prisoner with his name in her mouth, and a droid, and a target whose face he cannot remember, and everything's sort of going to shit. It's fine. Everything's fine. He's probably going die very soon, and he does not particularly want to die, but dying is the purpose of his whole life; inexorable and necessary as a sun going supernova. This is, after all, what he was made to do. He just has to remember that.

He settled back onto his haunches, a sharp, cruel light that Merlin recognised entering his gaze, the prelude to some terrible gotcha. "When did you decide that you were okay with chipping your humanity away, piece by piece? When did you stop being kind?"
"Oh, I don't know," Merlin drawled, swallowing down the little burrs of guilt that threatened to catch in his throat and stick painfully. This was not the gotcha that Mordred thought it was going to be. Well, actually it was, but Merlin had an even bigger gotcha, which cancelled Mordred's out. "I think it was around the time you killed my best friend."

Obi-Wan reaches out as his nose begins to bleed. Obi-Wan’s hand finds his temple. It stings. It stings. He does not know why. Obi-Wan cups his face, and, just for a moment, a surge of recognition blooms, bright and beautiful and alien. “I know you,” he says, softly, gently. “Cody. Cody.”
It is then that Cody passes out.

Summary
Fox wakes up face-down in a pile of flimsi with his hair in his mouth. This in itself is not particularly unusual, because he’s been sleeping at his desk for the last—five months? Six months? He doesn’t care enough to recall. Whatever. Point is, it’s been a long fucking time since he’s bothered to drag himself into his bunk. His steel desk chair is comfortable enough to while away the four hours he has between finishing paperwork and starting his first shift.
(This is a lie so fucking big it beggars belief. Fox’s steel desk chair is the stuff of children’s nightmares and one day, if the war ever ends—if he lives that long—he’s going to take a great amount of pleasure in attaching several detonators to it and throwing it in the Supreme Chancellor's ornamental lake.)

the purpose of this series: mostly for soothing My Pride, and also reassuring any fans at a glance that the fic they like will be finished, prommy.
why: either i have outgrown these fics as a writer but still like the bones enough that i want to see the stories through, or the plot had gaps big enough to fly a moon through and i haven't been able to progress any further. or both! mostly both in varying combinations. some of these are going to be much quicker to fix up than others lol. i'm working on them! they are still alive in my mind and that is the most important thing of all

Summary
It's a gradual, insidious thing, Fox's absorption into the Chancellor's office. The Chancellor wants a clone commander of his own, so he gets one. All Fox gets is a position far away from his brothers, a lesson in how to work around natborns who detest his very existence, and a seemingly endless list of monotonous jobs to keep him occupied through all his waking hours and beyond.
Fox misses Kamino.

A meeting with the Chancellor leaves Fox in bed recovering from his injuries. When he receives another summons while he's asleep, Thorn decides to go in his place. All he wants is to give Fox a small break, just one peaceful night of rest. It doesn't go exactly according to plan.
