Summary
Ed is an engineer aboard the Revenge, an interplanetary research vessel on a multi-year mission to study Jupiter's moon Europa. An accident requires that Ed awaken from cryostasis over six months early, and finds his only companion to be Stede, the ship's onboard AI. They develop an unconventional friendship, but is it possible to have more?
This is classic mutual pining with a sci-fi twist, inspired by all of my favorite stories about the nature of personhood.

“You–” Ed was struggling to parse what Stede was saying. “You’re playing your version of this song for me, right now? Like, in real time?”“Yes, Edward, that’s correct,” said Stede softly.
Ed’s brain momentarily seized up. He supposed it made sense that Stede was capable of learning a set of rules to do something like arrange and play a piece of music. There was something unnerving about this song, though. It felt, well–it felt organic . Reactive. Almost collaborative in a way. Ed was lost in the push and pull of it, until the last notes softly petered out.
“So, what did you think?” asked Stede. It sounded nervous again. Why the hell would someone program an anxiety response into a bot?

“Hmph?” Chief Prosecutor Edgeworth didn’t even look up from the tax return he was currently examining. “Now? Don’t be ridiculous. We still have two years of receipts to sift through.”
Apollo and Prosecutor Gavin goggle as their bosses argue their way through the least-romantic proposal, engagement, and wedding they've ever witnessed. It's almost as if, to Mr. Wright and Mr. Edgeworth, wedded bliss is equivalent to a long bickering legal debate crammed in amid an ongoing investigation.

Dragons are notoriously vicious and unfriendly creatures. Anyone with a bit of salt in their heads should avoid them and pray for their lives whenever one of those deadly beasts flies by.
Dean is a prince and Castiel is the local dragon living in his kingdom. They've struck an unlikely friendship involving frequent kidnappings, a lot of attempts at rescuing from the Royal Knights, and quiet talks under the sun.
Dean might also be developing a bit of a crush on his scaled friend.
ETA: I'm marking this series as completed even though I technically have some notes for other fics. I haven't written for SPN in a long time and, realistically, it's not going to happen again soon.
The fics in the series are all self-contained anyways, and there are no cliff-hangers around at the current time, so you can read without worry of being left with any major plot points hanging.- Words:

Summary
He didn't know what he expected. Maybe piles and piles of gold and treasure, closely guarded by a massive scaly beast, red or blue or black and breathing fire. Maybe with wings, maybe not. Maybe it would have red eyes and maybe it would attack as soon as it saw Dean. He was expecting—well, he was expecting a dragon.
Not... this.
"This" being a young man with dark hair, too blue eyes, and a tilt to his head. He didn't... look like a dragon. He just looked confused.
(Dean/Castiel fairy tale AU in which Dean is a prince who goes to slay a dragon, and Castiel is cursed to turn into a dragon every night.)
