Eddie ducks his head and Buck can only guess what expression he has behind the mask — sheepish smile? Ever present guilt?
Buck doesn’t even know what Tommy’s mask is because he’s not even wearing it properly. Maybe he’s being too harsh, though. At least he’s here, right? Buck looks around guiltily, wondering if he’s being a bad boyfriend abandoning Tommy to a corner. He spots him standing near the back, examining the jack-o-lanterns the kids had carved earlier. Maddie and Chim walk over to him, and Buck is pretty sure he hears Chim say, “Is that my beer?”
Buck should go over to him. Be the doting boyfriend. Diffuse whatever tension is sure to creep in.
He turns to Eddie, “Want a cosmopolitan?”
And Eddie has good taste, so of course he does.

Eddie’s at home when he gets the call. It’s rare that Buck’s on shift without him, but it happens. “He’s at L.A. General Medical,” Hen says over the line. Because Eddie’s not there in person to tell. If he was there in person, he wouldn’t need telling. He wasn’t next to him when it happened — whatever it is — and he wasn’t there to ride in the ambulance with him. “Okay,” Eddie says and gets in his car.

So maybe Jamie is tempting fate a little bit when he invites Keeley out for ice cream. Keeley agrees but seems to know he’s up to something. She snorts, eyes twinkling, and then does her own exaggerated lick of her double-scoop Strawberries and Marshmallow. “Want to tell me why we’re giving the paps a show?”
And Jamie’s got no good answer to that. Like, he’s got an answer. He’s not even sure it’s a bad answer. But he feels right stupid saying it out loud. Because the petty little truth is that he wants Roy’s attention.

Or: Keeley and Jamie get back together sometime during season three and pine after Roy a little (or a lot). It doesn't help that the press has caught on.

It’s warm with three bodies in the bed. Jon and Steve are equally stiff on either side of her, which is a little absurd. Jon is quite literally her long-term boyfriend. He at least shouldn’t be acting like he’s worried about touching her.
Nancy shifts a little onto her side and they both instantly copy her, keeping the same distance between them all. Honestly. It’s a little ridiculous. Nancy tries to ignore it, wondering if they’d made a mistake inviting Steve to share the bed with them. No weirder than inviting him to share their anniversary with them, she thinks wryly.

Eddie was running again. Naively, he’d thought his heroic moment in the upside-down would be the miraculous end to his cowardice, but apparently inter-dimensional monsters were easier to face than four guys with a brick and a goddamn thesaurus of slurs.
Luckily – if he was feeling optimistic - he found himself on a familiar road, stumbling towards the house of the one person he never wanted to see him like this.
Or: It takes being chased through the woods, bleeding and bruised, for Eddie to admit to Steve that he is gay and then three dates before he realises Steve likes him too.

Summary
Eddie was… pretty sure he was in a time loop. Delusionally, irrationally, his first thought was that this all started the day he’d seen Steve Harrington break several mall rules because he couldn’t say no to a bunch of children, because if anything was going to propel Eddie straight into the Twilight Zone, it was that. And that was apparently yesterday! Not four days ago, not last week, yesterday.
So, Eddie did the only rational thing he could think of, and called Gareth to say he was sick. He wasn’t against lying to his friends to get to the bottom of a mysterious time anomaly. With any luck, he’d fix… whatever it was, and everything would be back to normal without them even knowing what happened in the first place. Plus… C’mon, any opportunity to see the Scoops outfit, right? If he was stuck in a time loop, he was going to get his money’s worth.

“Hey, um… Do you want to go for a hike?”
If you’d asked Steve what he’d expected when he opened his door at 9am on a Wednesday in March, it wouldn’t have been Eddie, hands in his pockets, chewing on his lower lip, asking that, but somehow it doesn’t phase him.
“Sorry, this is weird,” Eddie adds before Steve can respond. He’s doing that thing where he rocks back and forth on his heels and darts his eyes everywhere, refusing to choose a single spot, like a rodent scanning his surroundings for predators. He’s not sure he’s ever seen Eddie Munson stand completely still. “Shouldn’t have just… showed up like this.”
“It’s alright, man,” Steve says, truthfully. He doesn’t get a lot of visitors alone in his parents’ huge house, except Robin, and she can’t keep him company all the time, especially now that she has her own friends. Dammit.
