Summary
As the lone heir to the Ithacan throne, Telemachus knew marriage was an inevitability in his future. He never put much thought into it; whenever it happened, he would fulfill his duty to his kingdom, and he would do it without complaint. It was a chore that had to be done, and he was okay with that. But when Odysseus brings up the idea of creating ties with Pylos by arranging a marriage to one of Nestor's daughters, Telemachus just couldn't get his mind off of the youngest Prince of Pylos instead. It wasn't like he was marrying for love - so why not marry his best friend? Telemachus thought he had considered every angle by the time the proposal was presented to Nestor and Peisistratus.
The only thing he didn't consider was actually falling in love.Series

Summary
When Telemachus and Odysseus came to Pylos with a proposal for an arranged marriage between the prince of Ithaca and Peisistratus, the prince of Pylos was just expecting it to stay as nothing more than a political move, a platonic marriage meant to bind their kingdoms together. Everything was planned out so perfectly.
Except for what to do if Peisistratus actually fell in love.(Originally a long ass tumblr reblog thread now converted into this for ease of reading…and also to make it better)

Summary
Odysseus, King of Ithaca, Warrior of Wit and Conqueror of Troy, has finally returned home. After decades of thinking only of his need to return home, he never stopped to imagine what returning home would actually mean. Penelope, Queen of Ithaca, Silent Ruler and Keeper of the Throne, finally has her husband back. But her happiness can't blind her from the cracks in her husband's brave exterior, nor does it mend the cracks in her own. Telemachus, Prince of Ithaca, Devout of Ithaca and Protector of the Throne, can finally put a face to the name that had been spoken to him for decades. All he has ever wanted was his family under one roof, but he never imagined he would have to be the one to pull them closer to each other again.
With Ithaca falling into ruin and the palace stained with the crimes of the suitors, the family stares down the final enemies ahead of them. And yet they are terribly unaware that the hardest battle to come will be with the monsters lurking deep within them all. But whose demons will be the ones to break the family first?
OR - everyone has trauma, a family who loves together breaks together and maybe will manage to put the pieces back together as well

Summary
Zephyr knew from her earliest years that she would be the one to take her father’s place as Chief. Well, Chieftess. Whether the people of New Berk were ready for a change like that or not. Unfortunately, it seems that more people were not ready for that change than she had hoped. But with a new threat slashing its way through the Archipelago, eyes set on New Berk and the secrets that flew away 2 years before Zephyr was born, she would have the chance to prove herself to her people soon enough. Whether she was ready for a change like that or not.

Summary
“We are but a day and a half from Ithaca,” he admitted at last, voice quieter now, lacking their usual glibness. “A day and a half away from home. After near ten years.”
Diomedes did not interrupt.
“It will be ten years soon,” Odysseus continued, his lips twisting with something like bitterness. “Ten years since the day Telemachus was born.” He let out a breath that sounded like a laugh, but there was no humour in it. “Ten years since my sweet boy took his first breath. And I am so near to him, to Penelope, to home – and yet I cannot reach them.”
"Then go."
(Or, After his ship breaks during a mission to retrieve the son of Achilles, Odysseus gets to make a brief visit home - after ten long years at the shores of Troy - and reunite with his wife and son for a few days)

Summary
What if Zeus said no to freeing Odysseus?
This doesn't sit well with Athena, who takes Hermes and goes to free her old friend against her father's wishes. After the events of the Ithaca Saga, Athena suddenly disappears, and Zeus refuses to tell anyone where she is.
Two years later, the family is left with a choice: Live out their lives as Athena suffers unknown fates to Zeus? Or take Athena in, and suffer the most horrific curse Zeus could come up with?

Summary
Odysseus’s chest tightens, wrenched with a sudden rush of fondness so fierce, it overwhelms everything else around him. He loves him, he loves him, he loves him, he thinks it may be the easiest thing in the world to do so.
or oneshot stories that are mostly an excuse to write odysseus internally (and externally tbh) monologuing about how much he loves his son and his wife. it’s several love letters in a trench coat.
