There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.

“Uh-huh,” Mike says faintly, and he yelps when they narrowly avoid the edge of a shining skyscraper, and his hands clutch onto Spiderman instinctively. “Oh – my fucking God, that –”
Spiderman’s fingers press a little firmly into Mike’s shirt. "Just – hang on!"
"What do you mean just hang – was that a pun," Mike sputters, clutching onto Spiderman for dear life as they swing through the city, and he can hear the superhero laugh through the racing wind in his ears, the rumble of it under Mike’s arm wrapped around his middle.
In a city of superheroes, Mike keeps running into Spiderman, much to his dismay.

Summary
Will Byers was raised to have the only correct opinions on music ever, actually, and he’s proud to show this off in the music review section of his university's queer student artists’ collective’s relatively popular zine, zine of the times. He actually really enjoys this position–that is, until the president of the zine informs him that he has to review his least favorite band on this earth: The Fellowship of the Ring.
At least his incredibly attractive neighbor in his U.S. history class is gonna go with him on the assignment, right?
Or: A music snob and the frontman of his most-hated local band walk into a bar for a date. It’s either the beginning of a really good joke or a really shitty love story.

Summary
Michael Wheeler had always known he was going to die in Hawkins. His grandfather had, his great grandfather had, the grandfather before that whose name he didn't even know had, and so on and so forth. When the Upside Down opened up, his first thought wasn’t that he was afraid of death. It was that at least this way he wasn't going to die alone. He was going to die a hero.
But life has ways of fucking with you.
By 1995, all Mike's friends have slowly trickled out of Hawkins. Now, Mike lives alone as an unsuccessful writer turned middle school English teacher, feeling as though everyone has moved on without him. When Nancy asks Mike to help her and Jonathan set up their backyard wedding in California, Mike accepts, hoping he can finally find the closure he craves. Except nothing is ever so perfect. Will has been living with Nancy and Jonathan while getting an art degree at Berkeley, and Mike hasn't spoken to him since the mysterious Incident between them after they defeated Venca. This could either be the worst or best trip of Mike's life.
