“Wally? What’re you doing here?” A crooked smile spreads across his face. People said Dick was like the moon (it was kind of in the name, to be fair) but he couldn’t help but compare how he could light up a room to the likes of a sun. It’s something a hopeless romantic would think. Wally isn’t so hopeless anymore but he keeps pining anyway.
“Do I have to have a reason?” Wally falls onto the bed gently, making sure not to get too close. Dick’s still coming down slowly. He’ll catch him, if Dick will have him. He promised he would.
Dick shakes his head softly and runs a hand down his face. “No.” He’s still smiling, dimples and all.or: Wally, Dick, and their intertwined scars

Summary
Sam doesn’t know what he’s doing anymore.
Hospitals tend to make you think like that– life and death, the passage of time happening right before your eyes. Someone is welcoming a new baby. Someone is saying goodbye. Those two somebodies could be the same person. Love and grief have a way of intertwining themselves so tight you can never tell where one starts and where the other ends.

Years later, standing beside Nightwing in the wreckage of a collapsed subway tunnel, Jason realizes the real wound was something else entirely.
