Logically, Clown knew that Branzy could fend for himself, given the time and resources and preparation needed. Knew that his lamb’s jaw could unhinge and reveal the sharpest set of teeth there was, could bite through bone and muscle and sinewy tissue and flesh with cutting precision, not even out of survival but simply for fun.
But—
If Branzy insisted on keeping up the guise of innocence, who was Clown to stop him? He’d go along with anything that man suggested, always ultimately swayed by those big purple eyes of his.

Summary
Branzy decides to set up traps around the casino to deal with guests who won't listen to words, and to protect himself when Clown isn't around. He tells Clown to not come by in the meantime, which greatly backfires on him as Clown misunderstands what he means and comes by anyway, much to Branzy's panic.
Somehow, this leads to Clown helping Branzy with the traps, and Branzy learns that Clown maybe likes physical touch more than he thought. A lot more, in fact.
