Summary
Before her final year of college, Yang moves into an old house on the edge of campus. Because Glimmer seems to be going somewhere with this, and because Adora doesn’t really seem to have a better idea at the moment, she nods. “Okay, sure.”
“I’d bring home my mother’s worst nightmare,” Glimmer grins. “And I have the perfect candidate in mind.”

The girl looks up at her again, and it's just as she thought. Mismatched eyes, one blue and one goldish-brown, look straight through her, too groggy to show a hint of recognition, but they're hers all the same ...
"C-Catra?" she tries unsteadily, eyes brimming with tears.
She gets a small, pained smile in return. "H-Hey... Adora."
(Adora and Catra reunite six years after a bad falling out in a dying world ravaged by extreme weather and rampant disease. Can they learn to come together again when dire circumstances try so desperately to pull them apart?)

Adora dances through the strands of time programmed into the system. The first week, she jumps forward just a year or two — 2042, 2043, just before the breakup, back when they were still happy. In 2051, she sports the short, choppy haircut that was popular at the time. In 2066, it’s long, and dyed at the tips. She’s twenty two, over and over and over again, each weekend spent experiencing that age right on the cusp of adulthood as she weaves in and out of time periods, searching for Catra.
In the summer of 2044, she wanders past a sports bar and sees her own face, sweaty and breathless in an interview. Adora remembers this video — it was taken just before she received her first Olympic gold.
Adora keeps walking. There’s no way Catra would choose to be here.
________Adora has never had much interest in the Etheria program, a virtual reality simulation in which those on the verge of death and dementia can relive their glory days, dancing side by side with the consciousnesses of the deceased — but when she runs into a familiar face while visiting a dearly departed friend, she finds herself tumbling back into a romance she thought she had lost decades ago.
