Summary
Severus Snape didn’t often cover potions in class that he genuinely believed the students couldn’t brew, but there is one that he always makes his OWL students brew purely for the chaos of it. None of the ingredients were all that expensive or explosive, so it was the perfect way to keep the students on their toes.
Until the year someone actually succeeded and there were…consequences.
Or; the Potions Disaster of 1996, in which Harry gets a little too pissed off and a little too honest.

The war had ended and Sirius finds himself washed ashore in a world he was not ready for.
He was not ready for the war to be over- it had hardly just begun when he had fallen through the Veil.
He was not ready for his friends to be gone, died in battles he had never fought.
He was not ready for Snape to be seen as a hero, posthumously, in his godson's eyes.
But suspicions exist that Snape had not died in the war. Sent on the task to bring him back to face trial, Sirius relishes the opportunity to finally have focus- a mission of his own: bringing Snape to face justice for all his war time crimes.
There was no other reason for Sirius to be hunting Snape.

Somewhere lost in all these things was Harry. Ron wanted to hold him close. He wanted so badly to keep Harry where he could see him, always within arms reach, so that the bloody fool couldn't walk himself into danger without Ron ever again. But, there was wanting, and there was having. And Ron didn't have Harry. At least not the way he wanted; either he had to accept things as they were, or learn to let go. He wanted to do neither.

Snivellous was certain to be up to no good. It was practically a public service to investigate the matter. His plan did not involve snogging Snape in a broom cupboard and it certainly wasn't supposed to lead to anything more, but sometimes things don't go as planned. It ought to be a story of pure simple hate between two young men destined to be on opposite sides of a war. It wasn't supposed to be a love story.
