Summary
The evening had been ordinary.
Rain tapped against the windows while Minho cooked dinner, Jisung stole his carrots, and neither of them had any reason to think the night would become anything more.
Until Jisung suddenly couldn’t stay on his feet.
The fear lingers long after he wakes. But Minho stays beside him through every shaky breath, every unanswered question, and every quiet moment where Jisung needs to hear that he’s safe.
The rain stayed, and so did Minho.

Summary
Nothing’s happened.
That’s what makes it so difficult to explain.
Jisung doesn’t know why everything suddenly feels too big, too loud, too overwhelming. He only knows that he can’t seem to make it stop.
When Minho comes home and finds him curled up on the couch, he doesn’t ask what’s wrong.
He just sits beside him.
And stays.
Maybe that’s all Jisung needs.

Summary
When Minho first meets Jisung, he’s been given six months to live.
“Could be a year, if he’s lucky,” says Chan, the man who answers the door for Minho and introduces himself as Jisung’s best friend.
Jisung, the tiny, wisp of a thing sitting in a wheelchair with a pink beanie on his head and a green knit blanket covering his lap, smiles mildly. “Channie’s an optimist,” he says. He waits until the other man walks into a different room to add, “I’ve never been lucky.”
(Or: Jisung is dying. Minho gets hired as his death doula.)

Summary
"I've kind of been building up on sensory input lately", Jisung grits out, aware that the camera is still rolling. Normally, in a situation like this, he would turn it off, but he does not have it in him to move a single muscle right now. He keeps talking, trying to keep his brain occupied so that it doesn't have time to interpret any pain. "But it's been a week since I last had a full-blown attack, so you know..." He grimaces. "It was bound to happen sooner or later, and... ah, shit, I think this might be it."
Or, Minho and Jisung move in together, and things don't exactly go according to plan, but they try to make the best of the situation anyway.

Summary
“We have to sit you up, it's time for some medicine.” the voice cooed softly, just barely breaching the waves of pain. Jisung could barely think, only let his neck be gently lifted as a pillow was placed beneath. He couldn’t fathom moving on his own.He blinked his bleary eyes open, but they could barely focus in the dimly lit space. His eyes flitted sluggishly, reacquainting themselves with his childhood bedroom, before they fell on the figure kneeled beside him. He had barely enough time to make out beautifully sharp eyes and a mole on the person's nose before his heavy eyelids slid shut once again.
"Oh," he thought, "an Angel."

Summary
“Jisungie keep you up?” Changbin grinned, and the harsh fluorescents overhead caught in the corners of his mouth. “Does he kick?”
Minho glanced up, and his glare must’ve been harsher than he meant it; Changbin’s joking smile faltered in a blink. Minho softened his gaze with a shrug. “Couldn’t sleep,” he lied, and the rumble of his voice through his head hurt.
This migraine was a bit worse than his usual, but he could—he would—get through the day. If that meant lying to the others, then so be it. When the day was done, he could take some painkillers and sleep the rest of it off. Until then, he would be fine.
Changbin tilted his head. “You look like Channie-hyung,” he said, thoughtful. “Doesn’t suit you.”

Summary
Jisung’s condition was getting worse. Each excuse sounding terrible and more of a stretch every time someone asked, but all he could do is smile as the lie grits through his teeth.
“Patient Han Jisung-ssi.” Unwittingly, he looks at the man.
The man sighs, pushing his cup to the side as he leans on the table with his arms.
“Does Minho know you have cancer?”
The million dollar question–the question he didn’t want to hear out of anyone’s mouth.
He shakes his head, not trusting his voice.
Han Jisung has cancer, then he meets Lee Minho.
