“Things have been weird ever since he moved in,” Kun explains. “The whole town thinks something is going on because they showed up so suddenly, in that house. Also, the White Elephant closed, around the same time, and it’s going through this major transformation that none of us can see. It’s been a weird month.”
“He’s just a person,” Ten repeats, emphatically. “Not an omen. If you just talk to people like they’re the people they are, they’ll open up.”
Kun can’t deny that.

“That’s new,” Chan mentioned, reaching over to tuck Felix’s hair away from his ear. Behind it, inked dark with delicate lines and shading, was a sunflower. Chan’s fingertips brushed Felix’s skin as he moved the platinum blond hair out of the way, a shiver zipping down Felix’s spine as goosebumps erupted on his arms, his jacket covering it. Felix lifted a hand on instinct to slap Chan away, used to the way Jisung and Hyunjin had a tendency to poke and prod at Felix whenever he showed up with new ink.
“Yeah,” Felix replied. “Got it done a couple of days ago.”
“You ever gonna get any of them colored?” Chan asked, his hand falling away. Felix wrapped his lips around the straw of his drink instead of answering.

Chanyeol feels his heart drop into his stomach as Sehun mutters those few words. The feeling is heavy, and it hurts, accompanied by a wave of coldness running down his spine.
"Would you look at that", Chanyeol manages to mutter. His voice sounds hoarse, but he blames this to the heat. "And here I was, thinking you're not capabale of emotions."

Chan nodded, all words still gummed up in his brain and untranslatable. Felix’s smile widened before mellowing on his lips. “Because it smells like you.” He said, simply. Simple, like the plain stitching on Chan’s hoodie.
Chan’s bottom lip quivered for reasons unknown to him. Or maybe they are known to him. “What do I smell like?”
Felix pretended to think, pursing his lips and tapping a hoodie-engulfed finger to his chin. It's obvious to see he already had the answer poised on his tongue.
“Love.”
Or: Chan’s favorite hoodie abruptly goes missing, but after some hard hitting detective work—in the form of Chan traipsing around their dorm like a lost (and cold) puppy—the culprit is finally caught.
And when Chan finds the dastardly hoodie-thief, well….he suddenly doesn’t miss the familiar sweatshirt, for much longer.

Summary
Chan’s lips are chapped in the way that an idol’s skin should never feel. The briny taste of salt is strong upon their tongues. The bruising contact of lips against lips quickly gives way to something deeper and something that is somehow far more urgent.
The beach doesn’t just breathe now, it heaves alongside their labored own breathes. Water laps at their legs on the inhale, and drawing back on the exhale.
