Summary
As soon as he lays eyes on the scene, Jason only has a single moment to take it in: Seventeen goons, most favouring legs or nursing wounds, but all still armed and poised with sinister hubris over a fallen form, which is bound and held roughly by two of them.
They’re laughing and jeering, one of them has a hand tightly gripping their captive’s hair to hold his head back, another is twisting his upper arm, and yet another is raising some sort of baton to strike. Their captive’s face is bloodied and bruised, lip split and one cheek swollen into the crease of his cracked domino, but he still snarls defiantly at his captors.
It’s Damian.
All at once, Jason finds himself completely swallowed by that roiling, green haze.
Or
AU where Jason was trained as Damian's bodyguard during his time with the League. So when the newest Robin recklessly sneaks out on patrol and gets badly hurt, Red Hood loses it to the Pit and slaughters the perpetrators. In this green-hazed state of mind, Jason's only concern is the safety of his charge, while Damian is far more concerned with making sure Batman doesn't find the bodies.

“What was your brother’s name?” Thalia asks gently, her arm snaking around Anna’s shoulders and pulling her into her side.
“Jason," Anna replies. She feels Thalia freeze around her, and when she looks up, there’s a glassy sheen over her gaze.
“What?” Anna asks, suddenly scared she said something wrong, something that freaked Thalia out.
“Nothing," Thalia blinks once, twice, before visibly relaxing, shoulder slumping and jaw unclenching. “It’s just that, uh, my brother was called Jason, too.”
“Do you have a last name in mind?” Chiron asks her leniently.
“Chase," Anna says, because Dick had once told her that all the Waynes were chasing after something.
Annabeth is sixteen today. She’s been away from home longer than she ever was there.
“Yeah, speaking of ‘the more you know’," Timothy finally puts his mug down. “Damian’s right. We can’t just assume you’re Anna Wayne because you say you are.”
“Yeah, I figured," Annabeth says dryly, spreading out her arms. “What do you want? Hair, saliva, blood? The key I used to open the front door? For me to spell it to you?”

"Al," he says, a little desperately. His skin must be melting, Bruce thinks, from how hot his face feels. "My God, Al. Why would you say that?"
A gathering group of superheroes contact Gotham's (unknowingly teenaged) Batman to join them. Alfred, to Bruce's horror, has some words to say about the people trying to befriend one of his charges.
(The Justice League, for their part, want to know why this grown man behaves like an angsty teenager. It doesn't occur to any of them to connect the dots.)

"That's good. Unless some mean, green little Martians come bother us in their little saucers, I guess."
Nobody would ask him why he says what he says next. Bruce wouldn't have an answer for them even if they did. He blames it on the new energy drink brand he's trying (apparently a fad, flavored with tropical juices. Bruce suspects cocaine somewhere in there, but he can never seem to keep a can full long enough to check), or maybe the casualness of the conversation. Gordon is a good man, and good men seem to bring his defenses down like nothing else, lately.
Or maybe it's how many conversations he's had with J'onn about the depiction of aliens in media. About the instinctive, human (and non-human) fear of the 'other' without really knowing what the 'other' is. Or maybe it's his inherent like for space and spacefaring...though he's always liked dinosaurs best.
But it comes to this: Before he can stop himself, Bruce blurts out, "Martians aren't that bad.

Lois turns on the bed, ignoring the surprised grunt of the person on the other side of it. Not bothering to look at his face, she pulls both her legs to her chest, plants her feet square on the guy's very, very broad stomach, and kicks him out as hard as she can.
She watches in satisfaction as he tumbles out of sight with an "Oomph!" but Lois didn't take a lot of time to admire her handiwork. Or footwork rather. She isn't stupid. Instead, she rolls out of bed herself, grabs the lamp on the nightstand, and lifts it over her head, ready and able to inflict pain when necessary.
