Millions of human lives hum along, stacked on top of each other in their glass and concrete towers, squeezed in side by side on the metro, rushing and scrambling from place to place, moment to moment, each one inevitably hurtling towards death. Rem finds them vile; disgusting, selfish creatures; food for Shinigami. Food for worms. They fill their brief time with false meaning, obsessions, devotions, aspirations. And what's it for? In the end they all die, each and every one. They should be honoured to be her prey.
But there's one human she finds herself inexplicably drawn to: Amane Misa, so beautiful; even her name fills Rem with indescribable pleasure.

The flowers chosen for cover art are, in large part, an inside joke with myself XD
But, in order, we have:
- honeysuckle. mostly chosen because it looks like tendrils, but I did get a kick out of the fact that the one chosen is a variety native to Japan and is also highly invasive and hard to get rid of. Lol.
- marshmallow. medicinal plant that's used for sore throat. I personally use it after (and before) long recording sessions, it's very soothing. perfect after eating a chunk of your bestie.
- red spider lily. bit on the nose, innit? spider lily is commonly associated with death and the afterlife.
