He wants to laugh hearing the conversation, because if they only knew Sangwon is listening real-time. There’s also a memory in those words, in that reply. One that Sangwon would rather not remember, and he also wants to laugh at the lighthearted, carefree, simple way the younger says it, as if all this time, only he has been stuck in this place, trying to forget it all and forgive himself, while Anxin has long accepted it and moved on. He wants to laugh, but he finds his cheeks becoming wet instead, the blanket in his lap darkening in small circular spots as his tears fall down.
Or, author Lee Sangwon and pro gamer Xin have a shared history they can't seem to move on from, and as fate brings them back together, they realize their story might not be as finished as they thought.
